James and the groomsmen wore Marc Darcy suits from Chaplins Formal Hire. To help him stand out, James chose a burgundy tie with gold stags and a matching waistcoat, while the rest of the party opted for burgundy bow ties. In the evening, we had a DJ from Stoke Disco to keep everyone entertained. We gave him a long list of songs, and he did his best to play them all. I think I was on the dancefloor for the majority of the night, and it was never empty. I was very calm and excited on the day. I nearly cried as I was about to walk in and see James, but once I saw him and the fact he was nodding and smiling at me made me start laughing. Once the ceremony was over, I was relaxed again, and once James got his speech out of the way, we both really enjoyed the day. The bridesmaids and flowergirl opted for TFNC London maxi dresses. They were burgundy to tie in with our theme and matched the waistcoats the groomsmen were weari ng. I chose a Morilee dress from Lucy Alexan der Bridalwear. I had seen her designs and decided I wanted to try th em on. We were having afternoon tea in Stafford, talking about dr esses, when I found a shop around the corner that stocked them . We popped in, and the ladies were so helpful! Lucy made me feel really comfortable trying on dresses, and we went back two weeks la ter to try on more, and I found the one . I loved the big skirt, and it was easy to m ove around in. It also had an unusual design which I h adn’t seen before, with a sparkly halter neck and open back. We had the wonderful pianist Karen Daniels play throughout the day. She started when our guests were arriving and played through to the end of the meal. She was fantastic and let us pick plenty of songs and even learnt a few new ones for us as well. It gave the day a lovely atmosphere. REAL WEDDINGS 31
