wonderful Sarah and James had a magical Christmas-themed wedding at The Upper House Images courtesy of New Road Photography S arah and James met on a dating website. “On our first date, we arranged to meet at a local pub,” says Sarah. “When I got there, 15 minutes late, James was already waiting at a table with a drink. We ended up doing the pub quiz, and I loved the fact he was so easy to talk to and willing to try the quiz and have a laugh at ourselves as we weren’t very good at it!” James proposed on the 4 th August, 2017. “My birthday was three days later, and I thought we were going for a birthday meal,” shares the bride. “We were at Miller & Carter, and after the waitress had taken our order, James said he had a gift for me. He got the ring box out of his pocket and pushed it across the table. James doesn’t like being the centre of attention, so he only told me instead of making a scene. I opened the box to find a stunning ring and put it on my finger. When James asked if that was a yes, I reminded him he hadn’t actually asked a question. He asked me to marry him, and of course, I finally said yes! I was so pleased that when the waitress turned up with my cocktail, I definitely needed it. I was so excited and wanted to tell our families, so I even passed on pudding!” Here she shares some of her favourite moments from their big day... IT’S THE MOST TIME OF THE YEAR REAL WEDDINGS 29
