Kirsten and Josh met on an online dating app! “After Josh liked my picture, we soon arranged a first date. We hit it off right away and we couldn’t keep apart after this!” recalls Kirsten. Josh proposed during a trip to New York, “Josh suggested a visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park to have some pictures as the sun was setting. He’d planned everything, even coordinating our outfits,” shares Kirsten. “We all [Kirsten’s mum and dad who were also on the trip] got into a yellow taxi and made our way to the location where we set up a tripod for our pictures – little did I know this was actually to record the proposal! Josh said I should get some pictures by myself looking out at the Manhattan skyline and when I turned around, he was there, down on one knee! There were so many emotions running through me and after Josh’s lovely speech, I said yes! Some locals walking past were clapping as we celebrated and then we went onto a very nice steakhouse for a celebratory meal!” The big date was set, 18th September 2025, with The Barn at Bury Court setting the scene. “The second we walked into the barn it just felt right, people said that this would happen when we find ‘the one’. I almost cried at how beautiful the barn looked,” says Kirsten. “we walked around planning where we could put everything. The staff were so lovely and helpful, giving us a tour and answered all our questions.
