Your Sussex Wedding - October/November 2022 (Issue 99)

The centrepieces were gold lanterns filled with flowers and rose petals were scattered on the tables. We also decorated with small jars containing string lights and others holding selfie props. We thought the latter would be fun for photos and help break the ice when people sat down. We didn’t have a cake to cut as it’s just not our thing, but we had a sweetie table in the evening complete with pick ‘n’ mix, which went down very well. We enjoyed a wide variety of canapés including vegan and vegetarian options such as butternut and cauliflower fritter with coconut and lemon salsa. Other options included sausage, onion rings and chips, and Thai chicken with sweet chilli glaze. Our flowers were white, cream and blush with lots of greenery, as I wanted them to have a modern look. We had a spray for the registrar’s table, which we moved to the top table for the wedding breakfast. The venue looked so beautiful I couldn’t get over it, and the weather was perfect, which highlighted how amazing the garden and decorations were. The team at Pelham House went above and beyond to give us our perfect day, we can’t fault them. 37 REAL WEDDINGS “It was the day I’d always dreamed of and more.”
