ROYAL PAVILION, BRIGHTON 03000 290 905 | https://brightonmuseums.org.uk/royalpavilion This breathtaking former royal Regency palace offers a unique venue in the heart of Brighton and Hove’s cultural quarter. Today it can be enjoyed in its original 1823 splendour, with Indian architecture contrasting with exotic interiors inspired by China. One of the most exotically beautiful buildings in Britain it was designed to entice, enrapture and enchant the great, good and grand of George IV’s court. The Royal Pavilion’s garden is one of the few fully-restored Regency examples in the country. Flowers emulate jewels against the flourishing evergreens that frame striking views of the palace, creating a pictureperfect backdrop for your wedding photography. The Red Drawing Room can host up to 44 for the ceremony. Retaining much of George IV’s 1820s decorative scheme including dragon wallpaper and palm tree pillars, it’s located on the ground floor and not open to the general public. The Music Room, available for evening hire only, can host 90 for the “I dos” and is one of the most spectacular rooms in the palace. The King William IV Room is home to receptions here. Situated on the first floor above the Red Drawing Room, it offers an elegant setting for both day and evening celebrations. With exquisite hand-painted Chinese-style wallpaper and hanging lanterns, it also benefits from a private entrance, its own lobby and a caterer’s kitchen. The space can host 80 for a drinks reception, 70 for a standing buffet and 60 for a seated wedding breakfast. DE LA WARR PAVILION 01424 229 117 | www.dlwp.com The Pavilion is a Grade I listed 1930s Modernist building by the sea in Bexhill, East Sussex. With sparkling white walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, a glamorous spiral staircase, balconies and a rooftop reception area overlooking the sea, this fresh, airy venue offers spaces inside and out, for a stylish, modern wedding. Standing just above the promenade of Bexhill’s beach, the Pavilion looks directly on to a vast, quiet sea, with Beachy Head and the famous Sovereign Lighthouse in the distance. Ceremonies take place in the De La Warr Pavilion’s vintage auditorium with room for 200 loved ones, where the production design team can bring your ideas to life. Its unusual dimpled ceiling and walnut veneer interior make it stand out with character and can be romantically lit as you say “I do.” Reception drinks are served at the top of the venue’s famous spiral staircase, where your 100 guests can enjoy a glass of fizz and take in the vast skies and sea views from the roof-top terrace. It’s also the ideal spot to capture some stunning wedding shots. At sunset the Pavilion is entirely yours, to enjoy a wedding breakfast with up to 100 of your nearest and dearest on the first floor. The head chef will create a feast of fresh and bold flavours using the finest local ingredients, including freshly-caught fish from neighbouring fishing town, Hastings. As night falls, the celebrations continue on the first floor with its long bar, balcony and dancefloor with ample space for a DJ or band. Up to 200 evening guests are welcome to join the revelries, so you have the opportunity to extend your guest list if you wish. The building’s stunning architecture is illuminated by night and comes to life, giving you a spectacularly stylish setting to turn the music up and let your hair down. www.linekerphotography.com Modernist style by the sea www.monaaliphotography.com www.vivaweddingphotography.com Royal seaside retreat WATERSIDE VENUES 19
