wings of love Amy and Ben’s venue styling involved a subtle avian twist Images courtesy of Bill Farnham Photography Amy joined a majorette troupe aged 13, where she met Ben’s sister and before long she was introduced to Ben himself. They dated a couple of times during their teens, but by and large their relationship was a plutonic friendship. Until that was they reached the age of 17 and loved ones began to see what the pair thus far hadn’t. They encouraged them to get together again and this time Amy found herself falling for Ben’s cheekiness and the fact that he never failed to make her laugh. Having been given the inside track from Ben, we know the reason he made her laugh so often is that he loved to hear her giggle! Love blossomed and they’d been together almost 10 years when Ben proposed. During a break in the Cotswolds, the couple went for a walk and made a stop by a lake to watch the swans. Ben turned to Amy and said, “Would you marry me? To which she replied, “When you have a ring!” So, he took the ring out of his jacket pocket and presented her with it. You see, Amy had suspected the proposal was imminent as he’d left the ring box laying on the bed at one point, and she had to pretend she hadn’t seen it! Amy and Ben viewed several wedding venues, but it was The Ravenswood they fell in love with. “It has such beautiful grounds and although we hadn’t imagined getting married outside, when we saw the Little Castle we knew it was where we wanted to say ‘I do,’” Amy tells us.
