Your Sussex Wedding - December 2021/January 2022 (Issue 94)

wonderland Our experts explain how to set the stage for the wedding of your dreams When faced with the initial blank canvas that is your venue you may view it in one of two ways: with total panic or giddy excitement. In which case, you’ll either be in need of inspiration or focus so we turned to the county’s styling experts for support. Check out their top tips for creating a veritable wedding wonderland with wow factor. THE PRACTICALITIES Sally Gallis from Luna and the Lane (www.lunaandthelane.co.uk) says, “Consider exactly what you’ll be using the space for. Will you have separate areas dedicated to the wedding breakfast away from the party zone, or will you need to think about transitioning the room from day to evening? If you don’t have an on-the-day coordinator, often the catering team or venue staff will be able to help, but you may need a crack team of your own friends and family to get involved moving furniture and props around.” FOCAL POINTS Bella continues, “So you’ve listed the obvious places to decorated, but are there any other focal points that would benefit from styling, maybe mantelpieces, gazebos or arches?” WHERE TO BEGIN Bella Timbrell from Arabella Floral (www.arabellafloral.com) says, “Think about which parts of the venue need decorating. In the ceremony area you’ll have the signing table and aisle; then for the reception space you’ll need something for the top table and centrepieces.” FINDING https://joemallenphotography.co.uk www.hayleyrosephotography.co.uk for Arabella Floral VENUE STYLING 67
