I love designing in harmony with the venue, the client’s brief, and using the best of the flowers available to us from the local cutting gardens. What are your 2024 wedding flower trend predictions? Myself and many florists I know are in touch with the current trends but not subject to them. This suits my clients who also tend to be fairly adventurous and open to ideas. Clients often want a style of design that integrates their venue, outfits, and overall aesthetic for their day. The trend that never goes out of fashion is the timelessness that comes from creating designs that reflect the couple’s own tastes and choices. What’s your favourite flower and why? The one I always come back to, as both the star attraction and a useful all-rounder, is the rose. What are your 2024 wedding flower trend predictions? I’ve definitely seen an increase in couples asking for pocket boutonnieres where the flowers are attached to a piece of card and inserted into the suit pocket rather than having to pin a buttonhole onto a suit. Simple long-stemmed bouquets of all one flower have also been requested a lot. Colours are still very personal and we’re getting requests for a wide variety of tones but the apricot, coral, and the Pantone colour of the year for 2024, Peach Fuzz, do seem to be popular already. What’s your favourite flower and why? A very tricky question! I’d always have to say whatever's in its true season – tulips in spring, peonies in summer, dahlias in autumn and amaryllis in winter.
