Michelle and Liam met through work, and started dating in 2020 before Liam popped the question at the couple’s home. “As a chef, Liam has always wrapped my birthday gifts in foil, so he made a big diamond ring out of foil to propose with!” Michelle tells us. “Of course I said “yes,” after all, foil is expensive these days!” The couple own the venue, Waun Wyllt, so it was a natural choice to host their own wedding there. “It’s our happy place,” Michelle tells us. “We started the business in August 2020, holding just two to five weddings each year. We’ve loved helping other couples celebrate and plan their weddings over the past six years. It felt strange being the ones to be married there, but we loved every moment!” Michelle and Liam’s ceremony took place in the garden, which they have worked on for the past four years, growing their own flowers and plants. “The garden was only recently licensed for outdoor ceremonies so we were the first couple to get married there - some things are meant to be,” Michelle says. “Our outdoor ceremony was one of the highlights of our day.” The couple chose a green-and-white colour theme to match the countryside surroundings. “We kept things simple so our florist, Victoria 22
