To tie in with their theme, the couple hired ivory drapes with fairylights from The Wedding Business to decorate the ceiling of the marquee. They chose terracotta vases for the tables and pots for the favours, filled with sunflower seeds. To incorporate their beloved pooch into their day, Sophie and Hywel used pictures of her at their favourite beaches as table names and displayed a painting of her on their card table. “We wanted our confetti to be eco-friendly, and so for the year leading up to the wedding, we asked Hywel’s nan to dry out flowers for us,” recalls Sophie. “She took this role seriously and had dried several boxes full. She even got her friends involved! They looked amazing on the day, and they were everywhere.” Sophie’s wedding dress was style 1510 from Martina Liana. It was the first dress she tried, and nothing compared to it. Hywel chose a three-piece suit from Hawkes Bespoke Outfitters, with matching versions for the groomsmen. The couple’s guests were not short of entertainment. Sophie tells us, “Hywel’s brother and cousin choreographed a dance routine to kick off the wedding party entrance into the ceremony. For the service, we hired a singer from The Midnight Fiddle Band. She had a perfect voice and sang as we walked down the aisle. After our wedding breakfast, before the speeches, everyone was feeling a little full and sluggish. At this point, Hywel’s mother had secretly booked two singing waiters to lift the energy in the room! This was the perfect mood-lifter we needed and was a total surprise to us, which made it even better. In the evening, The Midnight Fiddle Band performed with our daytime singer. They brought some high-energy dancing to the room with modern covers and sing-along classics with a fiddle twist, which had us all dancing the night away.” 36
