Arriving in Style is the brainchild of Ian Walker and Kevin Packer, who share a love for classic vehicles. Their eclectic range of vehicles includes a Ford Model A hot rod from 1930 and a 1957 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, alongside a Harley Davidson and a milk float called Daisy. Among the requests they’ve accommodated in the past year are dressing up in steampunk-themed costumes. Ian says, “Arriving in Style is my way of sharing the joy of these vehicles with others, and I’m always happy to make the experience more special if I can. Whether it’s by dressing up or playing special music, nothing is too much trouble, and I love a challenge! I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.” Contact Arriving in Style to find out more on 07771 908 939 or at info@arrivinginstyle.co.uk TIME TO SHINE Bristol- and Cirencester-based retailer Titcombe Bespoke Jewellery is celebrating winning a prestigious Bespoke Business award, placing it among the best purveyors of custom-made jewellery in the UK and Ireland. Congratulations! Local wedding photographer Victoria Welton has recently been named one of the Most Inspiring Photographers to Watch in 2025 by msn. “After years of working in relocation and property, recruitment, and as a driving instructor, I finally discovered what I truly wanted to do in my mid-40s,” Victoria says. “Photography allows me to combine creativity, people skills, and storytelling and I absolutely love it.” Based in Crewkerne, Somerset, Victoria specialises in beautiful, vibrant, timeless photography for weddings and more. Already an award-winner, she has been recognised as South West Wedding Photographer of the Year for four consecutive years by the Prestige Awards. She was also one of the first in the UK to introduce augmented reality into wedding photography. “It means so much to be listed alongside such incredible international talent,” Victoria continues. “Thank you to everyone who trusts me with their memories. Here’s to capturing genuine, heartfelt stories for more than seven years and for all the ones yet to be written.” Find out more at victoriaweltonphotography.com THE HEIGHT OF FASHION When Temperley London asked Cake Design by Holly Miller to design a centrepiece for their bridal open day, she knew it couldn’t be just any cake. “As with all my designs, it needed to celebrate creativity, couture and craftsmanship, values that are at the core of everything I create,” Holly says. “This particular design was also an opportunity to honour the artistry that defines the Temperley Collection.” The Toledo gown in almond mix by Temperley was the inspiration behind Holly’s wedding cake design. Each section of the dress was reflected throughout the cake’s tiers, echoing the position of the dress’ motifs. Meanwhile, the stencilled pattern on the fondant replicated the illusion of the delicate netting used as the gown’s base, and cascading sugar flowers in the brightest hues matched Toledo’s bold and beautiful embroidery. “It’s this level of obsession that makes sure my designs stand out from the crowd,” Holly explains. For a cake designed to match your own dream dress, head over to cakedesignbyhollymiller.com to find out more. victoriaweltonphotography.com LIGHT UP MY LIFE Whether you’re looking for wedding tablescape ideas, lighting for your together home or gift list inspiration it’s worth paying a visit to Pooky’s new showroom in Gloucester. The new showroom replaces a much smaller display space, and the brand took on this new location earlier in 2025 to create a dedicated and much larger flagship location. In Gloucester you’ll be able to explore an extensive collection of rechargeable lighting (ideal for wedding tablescapes), table lamps, lampshades, chandeliers, mirrors, outdoor lighting and more! Key collaborations include Matthew Williamson, GP&J Baker, Morris & Co., Ellen Merchant, Collaborative Craft Projects, and Studio Killian-Dawson. The Gloucester showroom also offers a curated selection of seconds - products with minor imperfections - at very special prices. AND BACK To the moon Jess and Cam said “I do” beneath the stars at We The Curious on 26th April, 2025 Images courtesy of Ivy & Pine Photography During a trip to St Ives, while sitting on the headland overlooking the bay, Cam handed Jess a photo book full of memories with the last page asking, “Will you marry me?” Noticing the emerald ring Cam was holding, she was in floods of tears before she even reached the end! The couple tied the knot at iconic Bristol venue We The Curious, a place already part of their love story, and found themselves influenced by the Planetarium. So, in its honour, they selected a palette of dark, rich tones with a hint of celestial sparkle and a touch of old Hollywood glamour. “We both appreciate a vintage aesthetic, so we settled on an antique astronomy theme,” Jess shares. Together, they sourced clothbound books to match the palette, a collection of vintage style bottles to fill with flowers, gold Moravian stars as centrepieces, dark velvet drapes, and a collection of stargazing curiosities to scatter around the space. Jess also designed a table plan based on a vintage poster of an annotated map of the moon. Jess was faced with dress disaster when the boutique she ordered her gown from went into administration two months ahead of W-day. However, a panicked visit to an offthe-peg store later and the bride-tobe found the one all over again! “It shimmered beautifully under the lights of the Planetarium,” she remembers. She accessorised with a handcrafted celestial headpiece gifted by her new motherin-law and attached to her bouquet a gold pendant engraved with words from a letter her late mother had written to her. Cam wore a bottle green velvet jacket with heirloom gold thistle cufflinks and a new gold pocket watch with a moon phase window – a wedding gift from Jess. Meanwhile the wedding party was dressed to complement the palette in dark blue and burgundy. The newlyweds served Pieminister pies and Wiper and True beer, supporting two fantastic, Bristol businesses. Both the venue and in-house caterers pride themselves on their sustainable approach, making them a match made in Heaven for the couple who share the same ethos. The event staff at We The Curious arranged access for guests to explore the exhibits between the drinks and wedding breakfast. “It was lovely to hear stories of bridesmaids climbing through the soft play area and guests meeting a robot!” Jess says. Jess and Cam both agree that their favourite part of the day was meeting each other under the stars for their magical wedding ceremony. Their dreams came true when they said “I do” beneath a projection of the night sky from the night they first met. “The Planetarium has a great capacity for guests but feels so intimate due to the shape of the space,” Jess explains. They were able to make the ceremony personal by asking friend Liv to sing during the star show following the vows. We asked Jess for her top tips, to which she replied, “Well, Cam recommends taking all the fun out of wedding planning by using an agile project management approach and breaking things down into actionable tickets to avoid overwhelm!” REAL WEDDINGS 17

REAL WEDDINGS 23
Edward proposed to Natalie, who he met online, in a dramatic location at the top of Arthur’s seat in Edinburgh. After venue hunting, they chose The Matara Centre as the location for their big day. “It’s just such a special place,” Natalie explains. “It’s gorgeous, laidback, and the gardens are stunning.” The couple opted for a soft, romantic palette of pastel hues featuring blue, green, yellow and pink. This was beautifully reflected in an abundance of florals, the focus of their venue styling for the day. Flowers hung from the dome in the hillarium, while a meadowscape was set up in the courtyard overlooking the pond. Instead of a traditional table plan the couple penned a personalised letter to each guest to help them find their seat. “Little personalised touches were our vibe,” Natalie says. They decided not to have a cake cutting, instead displaying the bride’s parent’s preserved cake flowers on a faux bake. “The food at Matara was incredible,” Natalie tells us. They opened with gorgeous canapés including the bride’s favourite, beef rib croquettes. The couple also laid on an ice cream cart plus sweetie and dessert tables. They served NED wine, a clever play on words for Nat and Ed, as well as it being from New Zealand, which is where the couple are going on their honeymoon. The wedding breakfast included a variety of different options, which were a hit, especially the chicken shawarma. “Write a mega list and tackle one bit at a time to prevent overwhelm.” 24
The beautiful bride wore a Lilian West gown with ivory lace top and nude lining. The bodice featured sheer, chunky lace, while the waist down had a boho vibe. “I wasn’t sure I liked it on the hanger but loved it once I tried it on,” Natalie remembers. Ed wore a contemporary, linen cream suit for a laidback feel. “It was an amazing suit – so different,” Natalie says. Meanwhile, his groomsmen were dressed in suits to complement his with some slight differences. The bridesmaids chose their own dresses in different styles and pastel colours from the palette. The two maids-of-honour’s gowns featured embroidery to set them apart. Entertainment was provided by Club Kudo roaming band, along with a DJ set with sax and percussion. Guests also enjoyed the 360-degree photo booth, vintage lawn games and made use of the glowsticks while partying the night away on the dancefloor. The bride and her mum performed a mother-daughter dance based on a routine they made up when she was nine-years-old to a Kylie track, which we bet went down a storm! The ceremony was the highlight of the day for the couple, when the bride’s 10-year-old nephew walked her down the aisle. They also had the opportunity to plant a dedication tree together the next day, which they found particularly special. REAL WEDDINGS 25

Wild Revel in this enchanted forest narrative infused with rustic charm and refinement WHISPERS Born from the timeless magic of nature, here elegance meets the wild whispers of romance drifting through sun-dappled leaves. Set within the storied grounds of Pennard House, shoot coordinator Tobi Afolabi from Kinsbond Events imagined an enchanted forest narrative infused with rustic charm and refined details, an homage to love that feels both grounded and ethereal. The colour palette was the team’s compass featuring rust, sage green, burgundy, soft beige, and earthen browns, inspired by fallen autumn leaves, the warmth of golden hour, and the tactile beauty of parchment textures. “We wanted the shoot to echo the feeling of stumbling upon a secret garden gathering, intimate, beautifully undone, yet deeply intentional,” Tobi explains. With florals that felt freshly foraged, textures that invited touch, and fashion that struck a perfect balance between classic and contemporary, every detail was curated to tell a story of modern love rooted in nature’s quiet grandeur. CRYSTAL CLEAR We demystify the world of wedding photography for you with our glossary of terms Choosing your wedding photographer is a hugely exciting time, and a task we suggest you prioritise. However, with great power comes great responsibility, so it’s not a decision to take lightly! Remember, your wedding photos will be the one thing (aside from your rings, and your actual marriage) that will last a lifetime. So, this isn’t an area to spare the budget or the time on. If you’ve already started looking, you may well appreciate that the above isn’t as easy as it sounds. Have you encountered an entirely new world that you never knew existed? Have you discovered that wedding photographers speak a different language? Suddenly feeling overwhelmed by choice? Allow us to demystify the whole process for you with our glossary of wedding photography terms. Understanding some of these keywords that photographers use, will help you to form a greater understanding of what’s on offer and what you actually want. Photography PHOTOGRAPHY 41
Andres Molina for Unsplash CANDIDS This is how photographers refer to informal, unstaged shots; just capturing you and your loved ones in the moment as it happens. They capture genuine, raw emotion and always feature among our favourites. Lori Dejong for Unsplash AMBIENT LIGHT This refers to the light source for your photography being entirely natural rather than from artificial means such as a flash or studio lights. It can also be a style of photography in itself, as use of ambient light brings a beautiful, natural, romantic atmosphere to the resulting images. Do bear in mind though, that during the winter months this may pose a challenge, but your photographer will know the best times and places to utilise what natural light there is and will recommend the use of other forms of lighting when necessary. BLACK and WHITE This sounds simple, and it is! Many photographers will suggest a mix of colour and black and white shots for a timeless, classic effect. Some images just look better in black and white. Most will capture the image in colour in camera and edit in post-production giving you a choice for your final album. COPYRIGHT So, you want to share, share, share your beautiful gallery, but who owns the copyright? Traditionally, it remains with the photographer. However, they’ll likely be more than happy for you to share for personal purposes among your friends and family, but when commercial copyright is required such as use here in our gorgeous magazine or for use in advertising, a completely separate agreement is required. When you discuss your contract with your photographer, always ask them how you have permission to use your images. Boudoir This is an intimate, pre-wedding bridal shoot, designed to empower you to feel confident in your own skin and embrace your femininity. Captured with a specialist photographer in a private setting (hence the name) these are typically gifted to grooms and you’ll be glad to hear are intended for his eyes only. 42
DETAILS Don’t forget the detail shots when discussing what’s important to you. Here, we’re talking about flowers, cake, tablescapes and more. You’ve spent so much time and effort carefully curating the look of your big day, so you’ll love having it all immortalised to look back on and remember how incredible everything looked. DOCUMENTARY During your research you may come across wedding photographers who describe their style as documentary, but what does this mean? You can expect this type of photographer to capture natural, unposed moments of your day, telling the story of events as they unfold. You may also see this style described as photojournalistic, reportage or candid. They’ll avoid staged shots like the plague in favour of capturing those genuine emotions, reactions and interactions. Ahmed Kzood for Unsplash Editorial This style of wedding photography combines a high-fashion aesthetic with all-important storytelling, aiming to create a polished magazine-like feel. There’ll be an element of artistic direction, styling and posing, along with set up of creative compositions. So, this is one for the photography enthusiasts but probably not for you if you’re nervous in front of the camera. Coverage When you see this term in photographer’s packages it’s referring to the hours they’ll be with you to capture your day whether it be ceremony and wedding breakfast only, for example, or for the whole day. Maximum coverage will usually involve them staying until the start of your evening party, so they can capture your first dance. As a side note, if your tog is with you all day please don’t forget to feed them, no one works well on an empty stomach! Mariah Krafft for Unsplash DIGITAL Most photographers will use digital cameras these days, thanks to the benefits the technology brings. Your photographer will be able to review their shot immediately, so they can check they’ve got the perfect one. Plus, it gives you a faster turnaround time, the images are easily shared, and photographers have more creative control. ENGAGEMENT SHOOT If offered, this is something we recommend taking your photographer up on. Many will offer this as part of a package, so do double check. Not only will you have another wonderful set of images to treasure, but this session also allows you to get to know your photographer and feel comfortable in front of the camera, both of which will be invaluable to you on the big day. PHOTOGRAPHY 43
Hisu Lee for Unsplash FINE ART When it comes to wedding photography fine art refers to a style that elevates your images focusing on artistic and aesthetically captivating photographs akin to fine art. This style focuses on beauty and tells the story of your day through a series of carefully curated images rather than purely documenting events. Fancy National Portrait Gallery-worthy shots? This one’s for you! Joeyy Lee for Unsplash FIRST LOOK If you’re not precious about the first time you see each other being from either end of the aisle, this is a lovely option to consider. You’ll meet with your photographer before your ceremony to capture your reactions as you see each other in your big-day attire for the very first time. There are often tears and emotions aplenty to immortalise. You may also opt for this if timings are too tight to allow couple shots post ceremony. First look shots with the bridesmaids or father-of-the bride also totally tug on the heart strings! Briana Autran for Unsplash Formals This generally refers to your group shots that are posed and, well, formal. Your loved ones will be arranged in neat rows, smiling directly at the camera with the two of you in the centre. They’ll include traditional group gatherings, such as bridesmaids, groomsmen, mothers and fathers, friends, bride’s extended family, groom’s extended family, and so on and so forth. This used to be the accepted form of capturing loved ones on camera but is now much less popular, in no small part due to the time they take. Peri Stojnic for Unsplash Film This method uses the traditional way of capturing images to negative film, which needs to be developed in a dark room later. It’s now used for nostalgic, artistic, or aesthetic purposes bringing a more unpredictable but considered approach to your photography. Some photographers will offer this as an add on, as it’s quite risky to use as the primary method. As film is more costly than digital, you’ll likely have the option to spread one or two rolls of film out across your day for the key moments. Anna Vi for Unsplash GOLDEN HOUR This is the period of the day shortly before sunset when the daylight softens creating a golden glow that’s an absolute dream for your photographer. Discuss possible opportunities with them for some magical shots. 44
