HOT TOPIC Wedding worries Our experts aim to set your mind at rest by tackling some common wedding worries www.photographybysimon.com HERE COMES THE HOUND Our fur baby is important to us and we’re sad about leaving him home alone on such an important day, but don’t want to burden a guest with his care if we bring him along. What do we do? Helen Whittle from Together Furever Weddings (www.togetherfureverweddings.co.uk) says: As you fur baby is family, why not hire a professional service to care for them throughout the day, to chauffeur them to venue and stay until the party finishes or even overnight? Our professional and friendly dog chaperone service allows you to include your furry best friend in your celebrations. You can choose how you’d like your pet involved whether it be as best dog or dog of honour, ring bearer, flowergirl, or to welcome your guests. You could even have a first-look photo with them. If you wish we can escort your pet down the aisle and work with the photographer to capture those pawfect family memories. Together, we can also discuss any attire you’d like them to wear and offer advice on where to purchase this. We provide dog handling and assistance throughout your requested booking including exercising, feeding, hydrating and toileting including plenty of playtime and walks. We also offer pupdates, sending you photos of your pup’s special day, giving you a little insight on what they got up to while you were celebrating. We offer a variety of pricing options to fit any budget or event. This can include proposals, photo shoots, rehearsals, vow renewals and, of course, weddings. We can personalise your evening and offer a no obligation consultation where we get to know your pet, you and your story. To further enhance the experience, we offer several upgrades to our packages including a chauffeur service with paw printed car ribbons and bows to transport your pet to and from the venue. For a tailored, exclusive experience we can also create a customised package to enable us to combine other services. So, fear not, your beloved dog’s day can be every bit as special as yours and you won’t need to worry about them, knowing they’re well taken care of. NOT SO SNAP HAPPY Neither of us are great in front of the camera! We generally hate having our photo taken. What advice do you have to help us feel comfortable on our wedding day? We want to ensure we have the best pics ever! Simon Hunt from Photography by Simon (www.photographybysimon.com) says: My advice is just to have fun. Many couples who book me to photograph their wedding often say the same thing; ironically as a photographer I don’t like being photographed either! I start couples’ photos with a telephoto zoom lens so I’m far enough away for you to not really know I’m there. That way, you can relax and enjoy each other’s company away from the crowd. Being alone like this will help you relax, naturally, and just be with each other. I also find that my communication with you both during the day helps enormously. I build up a rapport with brides and grooms from the moment I arrive, and by the time we’re ready for your romantic photos, we’ll be friends, so you’ll be more relaxed and comfortable. My main advice for these photos is to just be yourself, no matter what that is, even if there are awkward moments during the shoot, your reaction to these is where the magic happens, and that’s what I photograph. You’ll be on such a high on your wedding day that having a few photos while you look so awesome together is easy. And don’t forget, you may well have had a couple of glasses of champagne too, which always makes things more fun. https://calumbradleyphotography.co.uk 42
