Other venue decor included swathes of white and green ribbon hanging from the Barn’s beams, which spanned the entire venue, a super-fun neon sign and stunning floral arrangements in the fireplace. Delicious cookies were gifted to guests as wedding favours, iced in white and green. Instead of one large big-day bake, the couple opted for a vast selection all made by Ciaran’s mum. The newlyweds cut one of them with a child’s toy chainsaw as a nod to Ciaran’s profession. The wedding breakfast featured some of the couple’s favourite dishes including a hog roast for Ciaran and veggie burgers for Sian. In a moment neither the couple, nor their guests will forget, the newlyweds rode away on a Harley-Davidson motorbike. PALETTE-MATCHING PERFECTION Sian wore a hand-painted House of Savin dress, Julia. “I absolutely adored it as it made me feel unique,” the bride remembers. It was adorned with green and white oil-painted flowers, which tied together with the theme perfectly. Ciaran was dressed in a light brown tweed suit to complement the country vibe of their day. The groom also made buttonholes from used bullet shells and pheasant feathers bringing his party a personalised touch. The groomsmen all wore matching tweed waistcoats with chinos. The bridesmaids wore dresses in a variety of green hues ranging from olive to dark forest and hunter green. They wore them in different styles, which suited their body shapes. A BARN-STORMING BASH All assembled took part in a barn dance with a caller and live band with fiddle and accordion, which was a huge hit. “Everyone joined in no matter their age or friendship group,” Sian remembers. A DJ took over later and played into the wee small hours. The couple and their friends created their own entertainment with the ski shot they brought with them. “It was perhaps overused and a lot of my friends flet very delicate the next day!” Sian shares. A very talented artist was hired to paint live watercolour works of the guests and special moments. MEMORIES TO LAST A LIFETIME “We got to do all the things we love with the people we love,” Sian shares. “From the moment I saw Ciaran at the end of that aisle I felt so incredibly happy and special. That feeling lasted for days afterwards. We both had such a laugh at times, and we couldn’t stop giggling during the ceremony, which really is a nod to our personalities and the amount we make each other laugh.” Part of the reason for the giggles setting in was that it was a windy day and halfway through her journey down the aisle the bride’s veil flew off and into the congregation! The newlyweds have recently returned from their honeymoon in Vietnam and Cambodia, where they enjoyed an adventure tour kayaking, hiking and cycling. 32
