Your North West Wedding - December/January 2025/2026 (Issue 95)

STATIONERY 35 CALLIGRAPHY AND FONTS With more than 200,000 fonts – yes, you read that right – you’re not expected to trawl through them all. Your chosen supplier will have a wealth of knowledge on the subject, and ultimately the style of font will be based on your chosen theme. For classic themes, consider italic designs with lots of curls and swirls and pretty capital letters, whereas modern invites would go for clean lines, bold prints, and readable spacing. Fonts can be fun and are as much a part of the design process as colours and prints. BESPOKE There are elements of your invites where you can go bespoke with the finishing touches; you can create your own stamp and wax seals, you can have a drawing of your wedding flowers, you can have a QR code to your own wedding website, or even a magnet or ‘scratch to reveal’ game on your save the dates – the options are endless. MENUS One thing to ask on your invites is whether guests have any dietary requirements, from gluten-free to allergies. It’s information that you really need to know for finalising your menus. Once you do that, stationery plays a big part here, from the menu designs placed at the guest’s dinner setting – or perhaps you’ll pop a central one on the table – to signage for the buffet, cake table and evening food trucks; continuing the theme is a must! Even something as simple as the menu: here’s where you can add a personal touch once again with subheadings such as ‘opening act’, ‘main event’ and ‘encore’ for your three-course meal. Why not add a sign at the bar showcasing your couples cocktails, Peter Colada and Mojit-Joe?
