Enzo wanted to match with his groomsmen on the day but, of course, still needed to stand out. To fulfil this wish, the couple went to Edit Suits, who were able to build the perfect three-piece suit for the special day. Julie adds, “we were able to design every aspect of the suit, the fabrics, pockets, lining and even the addition of my husband’s name and wedding date on the inside pocket. His suit was complete with a goldhued map of the world lining as a link to his Italian heritage. He paired this with a white shirt, sage-green wrinkled cravat and pocket square and brown Loake shoes. To accessorise his outfit, I bought him a pocket watch which had the face of Big Ben on it to symbolise our engagement in London.” With this, the bride and groom were dressed to impress and ready to become newlyweds! The rest of the bridal party looked just as dapper on the day – with the groomsman and best woman in the same gorgeous navy colour and the bridesmaids in a classic sage-green. Julie says, “due to the varied ages of my bridesmaids and maid-ofhonour I was very open-minded about the dresses not matching in style, as long as they all kept to the same colour. The final dresses were full-length, sage-green, in a chiffon fabric which tied beautifully around the back and neck.” TIME TO CELEBRATE The music for your special day is another way you can add your personal flair to your event. Julie and Enzo wanted to portray the Regency theme they were hinting to throughout the venue, so their music choices were classical and bespoke. As they were signing the register at the church, they had Elfair Grug play the harp to entertain their guests. Julie details, “this was stunning to hear in our local church, and what made it even more special was that she played music from the Phantom of the Opera, which holds a special place in our hearts.” As the couple entered the venue as newlyweds they had Alerion Strings, a string trio, play a bespoke music piece. Another brilliant way to add the Regency theme into their day and I’m sure, was a major talking point for the guests. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Any wedding day can feel like a ‘pinch me’ moment, especially when you have put as much thought into it as Julie and Enzo did for theirs. Julie recalls, “as the bride I felt like the luckiest person alive, like it was something that wasn’t ever going to happen to me. It felt like I was part of one of the most romantic films, where everything is just perfect and something you can only dream off.” For Enzo, he adds, “it was one of the best days of my life” and “how could this woman marry someone like me”. Their day sounds like it was full of many heartfelt moments that highlight a very romantic relationship! To wow the guests and to create a memorable moment for them, Julie and Enzo had been secretly taking dancing lessons every week for a year. Julie had been a dancer as a child, so this felt like a natural addition to her dream day. Their first dance was the Viennese Waltz to That’s Amore. Julie says, “although the space was small with all our guests crowding around, we made good use of the space. We even surprised our daughters by including them in the dance.” Another couple of moments to go down in the history books for this lovely couple were the best woman’s speech, something she prepared herself and it didn’t leave a dry eye in the house; and the game the bridesmaids got Julie and Enzo to play. Julie recalls, “they got Enzo and I to play a game where we sat back-to-back and took our shoes off for a ‘Mr and Mrs’s’ showdown. We were asked a series of ‘who’s more likely to’ and had to hold up the corresponding shoe. What better way to show off my gorgeous blue shoes?” 34
