hit the nail on the head!” Now, they always say that it’s not what you know but who you know, and Matthew and Nadia have the perfect example of this. Matthew adds, “our friend and owner of Kav Bakes Cakes made us the most gorgeous wedding cupcakes! They were all different flavours and decorated on-theme with white and green, with a range of messages including our wedding date 06.04.24.” LOOKING THE PART When it comes to the dress, we all know that there’s a lot of thought and care that goes into picking the right one. For Nadia, she thought she would just try something ‘off the rack’ to save time, but fell in love with the Winter dress from Made with Love Bridal. She changed the long sleeves for a Bardot-style neckline, and paired it with the Spencer veil – her look was complete! The veil had some stunning embellishments that would catch in the candlelight as she walked down the aisle to newlywed bliss. To complement the elegance of Nadia’s dress, Matthew wore a classic black tuxedo from Peter Posh, Knutsford; while the bridesmaids wore black gowns from Six Stories, in styles that they could select ensuring a happy and glamourous bridal party. TIME TO CELEBRATE For their wedding band, Nadia and Matthew chose The Rush, which Matthew claims, “is the best band in the North West”! The band had every single guest up and dancing and the couple have been inundated with requests for the bands details since the wedding. Matthew recalls, “myself, Nadia and Gavin (lead singer) absolutely smashed I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys which we were told by our guests sounded very good (we’re still waiting for Gavin to ask us to join the band!)”. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Your wedding day is bound to be one of the best days of your life. You spend months, if not years, working towards your special day, it’s no surprise that there are some on-the-day nerves to combat. Matthew recalls, “my nerves jumped a little when I was stood at the end of the aisle for 20-minutes waiting for Nadia.” “We were due to start the show at 14:00 but by 14:20, Nadia still hadn’t shown up! I remember asking her mum if she had changed her mind” –Matthew But of course, Nadia was still very intent on arriving and had spent all morning thinking about how she couldn’t wait to see Matthew at the end of the aisle and to be finally marrying her best friend. Finding specific moments that standout can be hard to narrow down, but for this couple, their special moment was a quiet one. Matthew recalls, “the venue asked if we wanted 10 minutes to ourselves in a room just next to where we got married. We both stood there as man and wife with a glass of champagne and we both couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. It’s a moment we will remember forever”. Also, special shout out to Matthew’s two-year-old niece who, when the officiant asked if anyone had any objections, decided that would be the time to start her perfect baby babbling. It’s safe to say the whole room was in fits of laughter! In any wedding party, there are people and suppliers that standout as making the day extra special. For Nadia and Matthew, it was the best man’s speech that was a key point. Matthew says, “the stories shared about our time in university were hilarious, but the words he wrote for Nadia were thoughtful and had us in tears. He even got free drinks at 28
