Your North West Wedding - August/September 2022 (Issue 75)

“I hope couples will be more adventurous with flavours, with options such as coffee, peanut butter and salted caramel. For those who are looking for more modern takes on traditional flavours, opt for fruity, tropical flavours and floral notes such as rose, violet or lavender.” – Rachael from Lone Wolf Bakery. www.lonewolfbakery.co.uk and www.orangeivyphotography.com “For me, the most popular flavours this year have been lemon and Kinder Bueno, so it would be nice to see more of the good old Victoria sponge, white chocolate and raspberry next year.” – Amber from Love At First Bite by Amber. “Bold florals with a tropical influence will be more popular. I think we will also see large pieces of chiffon used rather than small ribbons.” – Katey from Cakes by Katey. “Buttercream cakes are favoured by younger couples, but over the next year or so, I think the split will become 50/50 between buttercream and fondant cakes. One of the reasons I think this is that there’s no longer a massive jump in price between the two styles. A fondant cake has the added benefit of allowing couples to display it all day long. As well as that, there are many luxury brands who have been able to create a great product that’s not too sweet.” – Daljeet from At Home Bakes. www.facebook.com/loveatfirstbitebyamber CONTACT THE EXPERTS At Home Bakes, www.athomebakes.co.uk Cakes by Katey, www.facebook.com/kateymelici Love At First Bite by Amber, www.facebook.com/loveatfirstbitebyamber Lone Wolf Bakery, www.lonewolfbakery.co.uk www.athomebakes.co.uk and www.louisejacob.co www.facebook.com/kateymelici CAKES 53
