Your North East Wedding - September/October 2022 (Issue 52)

Vercelli has such a cosy feel to it, with exactly the vibe we were going for. Each table was served sharing platters of the beautiful dishes we had chosen, so people could have a mixture. We wanted a rustic table style for our reception, with log slabs, candles and lanterns with clear vases of white and pink roses and gypsophila. We made our own sweet bar, filling glasses and jars with Percy Pigs, Skittles, M&Ms, marshmallows, Haribo, Ferrero Rocher and more. The wedding bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids included fresh white peonies, roses and other wildflowers and leaves. Our beautiful friend Joss made our wedding cake, which was incredible! It featured three tiers of lemon cake with homemade lemon curd mousse, lemon cake with homemade raspberry jam, and raspberry and white chocolate. My friend Arianne Grant did my hair, and I can’t recommend her enough. I have naturally curly locks and she worked with my natural style, adding more definition for a polished look. I’ve always loved boho dresses and knew exactly what I was looking for, finding it in designer Maggie Sottero. It featured a sheer bodice and beaded lace top with chiffon skirt and spaghetti straps. 40
