All of the people who you love (and who love you) are in one place together – it’s simply wonderful. A few weeks before the wedding my dad said he’d been listening to a string quartet on the radio and that it had really moved him. He asked us to find one for the wedding, and we’re so glad we did! We booked an acoustic singer and guitarist for ent ertainment, and the dance floor was constantly packed until gone midn ight. We wanted the day to be about laughter and friendship, so our food reflected this, with big sharing platters of salads, meat and fish. My mother-in-law, Jane, also made over 300 brownies for dessert which were delicious! We had a memory table for those no longer with us, including my best friend Harriet, who would have been my maid-of-honour. Heaven gained an angel when we lost Hatti to breast cancer. She was definitely with us in spirit, bringing sunshine and light and leading us onto the dance floor. 30
