Your North East Wedding - May/June 2022 (Issue 50)

Instead of favours my mum made party boxes filled with bits and bobs for the tables. They went down a storm and featured a lot on the dancefloor! We named the tables after our favourite restaurants we’ve eaten in on our travels. We wanted a social and informal wedding breakfast, too, with the food all sharing-style. We asked our florist for an autumnal wildflower look – and what she created was perfect. My cousin has since set my flowers in resin so I can keep them forever. We’re proud of ourselves for making our handmad e sign! We’re due to move house soon and plan to have it up on the wa ll. As we weren’t getting married in the summer having a nice indoor space was important. Newton Hall meant for a beautiful day, whatever the weather. My mum and I attended a macrame workshop a few weeks before lockdown, which inspired us to get crafting when it came to our wedding chair decorations! 38
