Your North East Wedding - Page number 35 - September/October 2021 (Issue 46)

The two bridesmaids, Katherine and my sister Lauren each wore a mauve-coloured multiway dress. The style allowed them to change the neckline throughout the day, which the girls loved. After rearranging our wedding date and having fewer numbers due to restrictions, we decided to reduced our food options. Guests had a choice of confit duck leg or cajun chicken strips to start, lamb shank with all the trimmings or roast garlic chicken breast in a wild-mushroom sauce for the main and a chocolate brownie or a cheese board for dessert. Mark Deeks Music played the piano throughout our ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception. We both enjoy music and he could play pretty much anything you ask for – we had a variety of songs from AC/DC and Wheatus to Ed Sheeran. After shopping at Brides Dream in Newcastle, I found a dress by the designer Morilee that suited my body shape really well and I felt so comfortable – this was a big requirement. Everyone commented on my dress throughout the day. The groom wore a grey suit from Slater Menswear with a lilac tie and a pair of tan brogues from Eves & Grey. The best man, Dale’s younger brother Hayden, and my dad Eric wore the same suit and tie. We had Barrie James Art do caricaturist sketches of our guests, which had everyone laughing all night! Barrie is so amazing and gave us a framed married-couple sketch, which was so special. REAL WEDDINGS 35
