Your Midlands Wedding - June/July 2025 (Issue 98)

The entire day unfolded beautifully and was filled with joy! However, by the time we settled into bed, it was clear that Dan had indulged a bit too much… and, well, you can imagine what happened next. He got sick, and we ended up going to sleep! Not quite the ending you envisioned for a wedding night, but I couldn’t complain since I was exhausted. Gazing into the full-length mirror and admiring my exquisite dress, hair and make-up was a surreal experience – it was a moment that felt like a dream! To keep our guests entertained, we had a DJ and a photo booth. The photo booth was a huge hit; everyone had a blast, and we provided free printouts along with a memory stick containing all the photos taken. A DJ always brings the energy, and the dancefloor was lively all night long! We aimed to create a beautiful day while staying within our budget. After the heartbreaking loss of our baby boy Oakley at just over 21 weeks, we felt the need for something uplifting. We managed to plan everything in about six months! We wanted our wedding to be memorable, a true celebration of our love, while also honouring our son. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we decided on doughnuts displayed on a clear acrylic-tiered stand, which was a big hit with our guests! REAL WEDDINGS 31
