Wellness for 25 years This month marks a major milestone for Moddershall Oaks as the award-winning spa and wellness retreat celebrates 25 years in business. What began as a family-owned vision in Staffordshire has grown into a multi-million-pound destination. Set within 72 acres of private woodland and lakeside surroundings, Moddershall Oaks has evolved from a singlebuilding family home into a diversified luxury retreat, delivering spa days, indulgent stays, wellness treatments, fitness programmes, curated retreats and large-scale events. More than 100,000 guests visit annually, supported by a team of more than 140 employees. In its anniversary year, the retreat has unveiled its most ambitious development yet, the architect-designed Woodland Pods, offering luxury and nature-rooted stays. With continued investment in new wellness modalities and infrastructure, Moddershall Oaks remains at the forefront of UK wellness tourism. Director Penny Weston says, “Reaching 25 years is incredibly meaningful for our family and team. Our mission has always been to help people feel better in mind and body.” Discover: moddershalloaks.com COLOUR OF THE YEAR Pantone, the global colour authority and provider of professional colour language standards and digital solutions for the design community, today introduced PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, a billowy white imbued with a feeling of serenity as the Pantone Colour of the Year selection for 2026. An ethereal white hue, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer serves as a symbol of calming influence in a frenetic society rediscovering the value of measured consideration and quiet reflection. Similar to a blank canvas, Cloud Dancer signifies our desire for a fresh start. Peeling away layers of outmoded thinking, we open the door to new approaches. Cloud Dancer quiets the mind, encouraging true relaxation and focus that allows the mind to wander, and creativity to breathe, making room for innovation. For weddings, Cloud Dancer’s soft, timeless elegance offers the perfect palette for modern bridal styling— evoking purity, sophistication, and a serene sense of new beginnings. Get ready to see this shade come to life. Discover more: pantone.com/color-of-the-year/2026 MEMORIES IN WORDS Shropshire-based Line & Verse, a short biography and storytelling service, has launched. The company specialises in writing, formatting and framing people’s brightest days, such as weddings, transforming them into written stories that can be displayed as lasting art pieces. The team was inspired by the idea that words can capture what photographs cannot. The launch coincides with the campaign Write It Down, rooted in founder Sharon Hadley-Ford’s personal experience of caring for a parent with dementia and witnessing how easily stories are lost when they are not recorded. In support of Alzheimer’s Research UK, 10 per cent of every sale will be donated via Work for Good. Rather than replacing photography or film, Line & Verse offers storytelling as a complementary keepsake, capturing voices, relationships and emotions. Alongside wedding stories, the service also creates proposals, vows and speeches. Discover: lineandverse.co.uk unsplash.com/@anitaaustvika LATEST NEWS 7

It’s also hardly the most exciting part of planning a wedding – but when you consider how much is being spent, it can be one of the most important items on the to-do list. We spoke to Mark Brown from Wedinsure to find out what wedding insurance actually covers, and what people often misunderstand. Mark explains, “At its core, wedding insurance is designed to protect you financially if something unexpected happens that’s outside your control. This might include a key supplier going out of business, a venue becoming unavailable, or serious illness or injury affecting the couple or close family, leading to the wedding being cancelled or rearranged. Policies can also extend to loss or damage to important items such as rings, outfits or gifts, as well as personal and public liability, which many venues now require. “Cover is typically linked to the overall cost of the wedding, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Wedinsure, for example, offers 10 levels of cover from £6,000 up to £100,000, with prices starting from a £38.99 one-off payment. What wedding insurance doesn’t cover is a simple change of heart – it’s there for unforeseen problems. “Wedding insurance is worth considering early in the planning process, ideally once you start paying deposits. From that point on, you’ve made a financial commitment and that’s exactly what insurance is intended to protect. With Wedinsure, cover can be taken out up to 30 months before the big day, allowing couples to put protection in place early. Wedding insurance isn’t about expecting problems – it’s about peace of mind, knowing you won’t be left out of pocket if the unexpected happens.” For more information about Wedinsure, visit wedinsure.co.uk Wedinsure explains how wedding insurance works and why it offers peace of mind from the moment you pay your first deposit

Let your ceremony unfold in a place where every beam and stone tells a story of love, history, and tradition The gatehouse of Cheylesmore Manor House, a remnant of a medieval royal palace, stands in the heart of Coventry city centre on New Union Street. The magnificent timber building is a key piece of Coventry’s rich and important heritage. Previously, the only unfortified royal palace outside of London, it’s now used as a stunning venue for ceremonies. SETTING THE SCENE The manor is believed to have been built for the Earl of Arundel in 1237. By 1320, it had passed to Queen Isabella, wife of Edward II, along with the lavish Cheylesmore Park that surrounded it. Her grandson, Edward the Black Prince, inherited it after her. The building known today is, in fact, only the gatehouse and parts of two cross wings of the original manor house. EXCHANGING VOWS The property has three beautiful ceremony rooms: the Queen Isabella Room (hosting 20 people) , the Black Prince Room (50), and the Library Room (10). The Black Prince Room retains a wealth of original features, including a magnificent vaulted beamed ceiling with an impressive stone fireplace, and is furnished to a very high standard with medieval chandeliers. The room has been tastefully decorated to add an extra special touch to ceremonies. Once the vows are over, couples will exit from this room via a winding staircase, down to a huge oak door, into a large stone-flagged courtyard where a section of the city wall still remains. The Queen Isabella Room, with its beautiful beams on both walls and ceiling, is tastefully furnished to a high standard. Once the ceremony is over, guests will exit from the opposite side of the room, passing through a second huge oak door onto a large stone-flagged courtyard. Furnished to a high standard, the Library Room features stunning beams on both walls and the ceiling. The room is on the ground floor of the Manor House, making it accessible for all. THE FINAL VERDICT Cheylesmore Manor provides a memorable setting to exchange vows surrounded by loved ones. The team does everything they can to make special events run as smoothly as possible, from the first enquiry to the day itself. They aim to make each day very special, leaving couples to enjoy a worry-free occasion. In Full Bloom Fresh ideas, unexpected details and modern inspiration for unforgettable spring weddings This time of year is all about rebirth, freshness and unexpected intimacy. Let the season inspire everything from your colour palette and textures to lighting, fashion and catering. We dive into spring to reveal the best ways to embrace it, from grand, showstopping moments to the small, thoughtful details that make your day truly personal. furniturechoice.co.uk PERFECT PALETTES These months offer a stunning array of colour options, especially outdoors, where flowers and nature are in full bloom. Complement the setting, don’t compete with it. Soft tones like sage, muted apricot, blush, terracotta, olive, brushed gold and dusty blue enhance the gentle, natural feel of the day. THOUGHTFUL FAVOURS Thank guests with small, memorable gifts like potted succulents, seed packets with “Let love grow,” or other keepsakes that reflect your style and the season. Or pick something edible, which will always go down a treat, like rose macarons! Dress to impress Choose flowing fabrics like chiffon, organza, tulle or muslin. Think layered, airy designs with delicate embroidery, wildflowers, leaves or lace. Long sleeves work well for cool mornings and evenings, while capes, embroidered shawls or personalised jackets add warmth and style for early spring weddings. SUITED and BOOTED For grooms or those opting for suits, natural textures like linen, lightweight wool or flannel work beautifully, paired with satin accents. Velvet jackets make a statement, while single-breasted suits are timeless and the double-breasted touch adds structure. Embroidered waistcoats, floral ties, natureinspired cufflinks and suede or leather shoes complete the look. tmlewin.co.uk rosa-clara.com unsplash.com@diana_pole 24

unsplash.com@petitesimages Romantic ceremony styling Highlight the ceremony with intimate, romantic touches. Line the aisle with petals, frame your vows with a floral arch, add drapes from trees or ceilings and consider hanging florals or candlelit lanterns for extra magic. PRETTY IN PASTELS Opt for mismatched pastel shades in silk or chiffon for your best girls. This creates a soft, romantic look while letting each bridesmaid showcase her style. Finish with delicate accessories for cohesion. Beautiful backdrops A garden setting is lovely, but you’re not limited to it. Consider an orangery with a view to avoid spring showers, a converted greenhouse draped in plants, riverside venues with gentle water sounds or orchards that provide a magical backdrop for photos throughout the day. monsoon.co.uk unsplash.com@stjosh unsplash.com@anitaaustvika AFTERNOON DELIGHTS A laid-back yet elegant afternoon tea is a hit with guests. Think soft pastel cakes, delicate pastries, citrus scones and seasonal sandwiches. Add edible flowers or mini herb sprigs, serve floral teas or Champagne and finish with lace runners, fine china, linen napkins and fresh florals. lunaandwild.com ACCESSORIES & SHINE Have fun with accessories! Statement floral crowns, delicate hairpins or embroidered veils adorned with flowers, birds, bees or butterflies add personality. Sheer gloves or other refined details will bring elegance to the overall look. SPRING WEDDINGS 25

Signature scents Elevate the day with a floral perfume to cherish long after. Think hellebores, lilac, cherry blossom, forsythia, ranunculus or fresh herbs for a perfect way to capture the essence of spring. unsplash.com@photos_by_lanty SPRING CAKES A semi-naked cake topped with fresh flowers is perfect for spring. Flavours like lemon and elderflower, strawberry and cream or orange blossom and almond work beautifully. Handpainted floral designs and mini cakes or sweet treats add variety as well as the wow factor. Signature COCKTAILS Create playful, personalised drinks garnished with flowers, citrus twists or herbs. Try lavender gin fizz, rose Champagne or herb-infused tonics to add a fun and elegant touch to the celebrations. Enchanting TUNES Add romance with live music. A harp or string quartet playing classical versions of your favourite songs brings an elegant and timeless Bridgertoninspired look. unsplash.com@sample_in_photography unsplash.com_paupattersonphotography COORDINATED STATIONERY Keep all stationery in line with your colour scheme and theme. Think floral illustrations, pressed petals and wax seals. Extend the look to the table plans, place cards and signage. unsplash.com@ahtziri unsplash.com/@july_06 26

SPRING MENU IDEAS Work with your caterer to create a seasonal menu. Keep canapés light and striking and for the main meal, consider options such as asparagus tarts, pea and mint risotto, corn-fed chicken supreme, herb-crusted lamb, grazing boards, floral salads and citrus desserts. Natural glow Keep makeup fresh and effortless with a dewy base, soft eyeshadow and gentle blush. A subtle pop of colour on the lips complements the springtime vibe. sueryder.org unsplash.com@gettyimages Confetti magic After you tie the knot, the confetti throw is a beautiful, celebratory moment. Choose biodegradable paper or dried petals in apricot, blush or pale blue. Ask guests to toss them up, not at you, as you don’t want a mouthful! SEASONAL BLOOMS With an abundance of seasonal flowers, you’re spoilt for choice! Think peonies, ranunculus, tulips, anemones, sweet peas and hyacinths – perfect for pastels or bright pops of colour. Loose wild arrangements, especially with wildflowers, add a romantic touch. unsplash.com@itsbrunoagain STYLED TABLES Mix textures like linen, ceramics and wood, layering in flowers, herbs, seasonal fruit and pastel glassware. A love written in the stars From an online meeting to a winter proposal in New York, Amy and Luke’s spring wedding was full of meaning, family and heartfelt moments Images courtesy of Frances Milburn Photography Amy and Luke’s adventure began after meeting online through eHarmony and from the moment they met, everything changed. Fast forward 11 months and the couple became engaged in New York, in front of the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Center on a very chilly November evening. From there, the wedding planning began! BEAUTIFUL BACKDROPS When it came to choosing a venue, the pair held their ceremony at a local church, where Amy’s parents were married, adding an extra-special layer to the celebrations. They then fell in love with Losehill House Hotel & Spa for the reception. This began with a drinks reception on the lawn, accompanied by music from Craig Owen, followed by the wedding breakfast inside. “We thought the venue was beautiful” says Amy. “Having lots of rooms for family and friends to stay over was a huge bonus, along with the spa facilities for the next day.” What really stood out was the fantastic service and helpfulness of the staff, who made the day flow perfectly and feel extra special. It was also Luke’s 40th birthday, so there was even more love, happiness and reason to celebrate. “The team were amazing to work with. They made the process so easy and were always prompt with responses. The staff made the day flow so well and completely stress-free!” SETTING THE SCENE The venue perfectly complemented the couple’s colour palette of sage green, yellow and gold, tying in beautifully with the spring season. Styling was kept classic and elegant, with thoughtful details including table flower arrangements, floral arches and lanterns to bring their vision to life. The food at Losehill House Hotel & Spa was another highlight, with quality, taste and presentation all receiving high praise. “We had an amazing cake designed just for us,” says Amy. “The bottom layer was strawberry and prosecco, the middle was chocolate, cherry and amaretto, and the top was apple and salted caramel. The cake was decorated with a succulent plant design, which matched the favours we gave our guests.” For the children, they had biscuits made with the same design and their names printed on them. LOOKING THE PART The bride looked effortlessly beautiful in a Morilee dress from Brides of Bakewell. “I loved the lace flowers on the train,” says Amy. She paired her gown with a veil, a locket containing a photo of her late grandad, a gift from Luke on the wedding morning, and a Blue John ring her grandad bought her more than 25 years ago. Amy chose to wear her hair down with soft curls and opted for a glamorous makeup look with gentle, natural lips. The team executed her vision perfectly. The groom’s suit was especially meaningful, as it was made by Amy’s father, who is a tailor at G.A. Shepherd Bespoke Tailors in Calver. The best man wore a similar suit from Next, while the bridesmaids and maid-of-honour (Amy’s aunt) all wore sage green. MEMORABLE MOMENTS There were plenty of standout moments throughout the day, including the couple’s first dance to Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. One particularly unforgettable highlight was the best man’s speech. Amy says, “The best two and a half minutes of live entertainment Bury has ever seen thanks to an unexpected karaoke performance! “Another funny moment was when our friend Roy tried to throw lots of confetti over us at the church, but the wind blew it straight back over him instead!” The day was everything the couple hoped for and more, a truly amazing celebration surrounded by loved ones. “Saying our vows in the church and our first dance,” Amy reflects. “I think that might count as two favourite moments!” She was also surprised with a guard of honour from the 1st Curbar Guides at the church, a group she once volunteered with as a Guide leader.
