Your London Wedding - September/October 2022 (Issue 85)

Nearlywed All the latest from the city BESPOKE BRIDE The philosophy behind dressmaker Coral Turner’s couture readyto-wear collection is the creation of timeless pieces that you’ll want to wear again and again, outdoing fashion trends and each being the only one handmade. This ideology has now been extended to include bespoke non-traditional bridal wear for those brides wanting something different. The allure, made-to- measure garments can be worn long after the festivities of your special day. Fabrics of distinction and quality, the artisan craft of couture sewing and attention to detail are a pre-exquisite for this work. The journey starts with a consultation with Coral at her atelier in East Greenwich where ideas can be shared, and styles and designs looked at. “I’ve designed and made garments that are non-traditional for weddings, and yet they say ‘bride’ perfectly,” says Coral. “The wedding coat pictured is in silk zibeline, with a liquid silk satin blue sapphire lining; accompanied by a couture handmade ivory coloured wrap-over top and was worn with trousers to match – the bride looked sensational,” she adds.
