But after our recent stay, L’oscar London stood out as something truly special and easily one of the most memorable escapes I’ve experienced alongside my partner. SETTING THE SCENE Nestled on the edge of Covent Garden, just off the bustling cobblestone streets lined with boutique shops and cafés, L’oscar London stands proudly as an oasis of comfort and style. The stately historic building embodies classic London charm, boasting an impressive stone façade, elegant windows and refined luxury. Inside, the hotel is a perfect blend of historic and modern flair, with opulent touches and exquisite attention to detail. Every angle offers something for the senses, thanks to the renowned French architect and interior designer Jacques Garcia. He transformed a Baroquestyle, Grade II-listed former church by introducing state-of-the-art amenities, beautifully balanced with historic features, for the best of both worlds. FIRST IMPRESSIONS From the moment we stepped inside, we left behind the bustling streets and entered a world of sophistication. The charming concierge, Toni, was always on hand to guide us through a faultless stay, which began with the perfect London introduction - a cup of tea enjoyed in the cosy yet stylish lounge as we checked in. The intimate, chic space featured plush velvet upholstery, antique accents and quirky styling from the butterfly wall to the birds adorning the light fixtures throughout - a nod to Jacques Garcia’s signature blend of theatricality and natural history. After a stress-free checkin, we headed to our suite, taking in the dramatic interiors along the way, bursting with personality in all the right ways. THE SUITE LIFE With just 39 bedrooms, each boasting its own extravagant design, we had the pleasure of staying in the Junior Suite Grande and it far exceeded expectations. The photos simply didn’t do this space justice! From the high ceilings embellished with intricate Victorian cornices to the gold-gilded tapestries, every detail felt thoughtfully curated.
