Your Kent Wedding - November/December 2022 (Issue 105)

The Old Kent Barn’s old white London cab drove us from one barn to the next allowing us to make a grand entrance. I was surprised by the dress that I felt great in. I thought it would be a slim-fit fishtail, but in the end I opted for a beautiful floral lace A-line silhouette... with sequins, of course! I accessorised with a veil for the ceremony and a stunning sparkling hair comb. I also had a charm attached to my bouquet with a picture of my late father. The bridesmaids wore multiway dresses in mint. I wanted them to have the option to wear it however they felt comfortable, and three of them opted for the strapless style, while my maid-of-honour chose to make hers halterneck. Lee wore a navy suit with dogtooth pattern. It was exactly what he’d been looking for. The groomsmen wore the same, but the groom was the only one to wear a waistcoat with it. I had Lee’s embroidered with his late mother’s handwriting and a message wishing him a wonderful day. He also wore a pin with this mother’s picture on his breast pocket. Our table plan was written in white on a large mirror with florals decorating the top and lanterns to adorn the bottom. “We felt so grateful to be able to have our wedding after all the worries over Covid and everyone being apart for so long.” 36
