Our African-themed cake had carrot, chocolate and lemon flavours. I opted for a white A-line dress that I fell in love with online; it made me feel like a Christmas queen. As we were due to get married in South Africa, our theme was Christmas safari. We had wreaths for the table centrepieces with different animals for the table names. We gave guests gingerbread men for favours with icing pens to decorate. Our number one goal was to share our day with friends and family, especially my siblings, nieces and nephews. We were due to get married in South Africa but had to cancel our day a few times due to Covid-19 and a venue letting us down. They say everything happens for a reason as we found South Lawn Hotel – the team were fantastic from the minute we walked in. 36
