Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - Page number 44 - November/December 2021 (Issue 89)

G etting married in the winter doesn’t have to mean compromising on style or fabulous photos. The season provides a wealth of inspiration for a magical winter wonderland theme. Dorset-based on-the-day wedding coordinator Natasha Gilchrist shows how in this inspirational shoot. “I wanted to create a scene to demonstrate that winter weddings can be just as beautiful. My vision involved a woodland backdrop, so I was thrilled when The Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House on the Somerset/Dorset border agreed to host the shoot within their grounds.” Rich deep colours were used to create warmth and depth within the natural setting. The stationery matched the forest green table drape and the jewel-like navy blue, gold and deep red tones of the wedding cake, macarons and biscuits were complemented by the glow from a hanging chandelier. “To complete the look, we draped festoon lighting between the Christmas trees which, combined with an eerie mist from the smoke machine, gave the shoot an air of luxe and glamour with a wintry warm edge,” adds Natasha. 44
