Your Hampshire & Dorset Wedding - Jan/Feb 2018 (Issue 72)

R omance blossomed for Heather and Jonny after leaving school where they first met. “We both fancied each other, but we didn’t officially start going out until 2010,” explains Heather. After two-and-a-half years together, Jonny proposed on a romantic trip to the New Forest; their favourite place. He’d planned to pop the question while they were out walking in the woods but an unexpected distraction put pay to that. “We were chased by a horse so he waited until the evening and asked me to marry him in the hotel garden, just as the sun was setting. There was just the two of us and it was perfect,” remembers Heather. “He’d bought the ring, asked my mum for her approval and planned it all without me knowing!” They opted for a winter wedding full of lush champagne, gold and dusky pink tones for a romantic feel. Read on for Heather’s account of their glamorous celebration... The ceremony was really special, especially when we saw each other for the first time as I walked up the aisle. My Demetrios dress (style 610) was the first one I tried on at the first shop I went to. I did try others but they just didn’t have the right feel. 50 We looked at many different venues, but Lainston House blew all the others out of the water, it’s so beautiful, we couldn’t find a single flaw. My beautiful bouquet included different types of roses in a range of colours and sizes with freesias and diamanté pins. As my dress was embellished with lace and beading, I chose a long, simple veil with a white fur bolero and a diamanté hair accessory.
