The dodgems were, without a doubt, the biggest hit of the night! Everyone, from kids to grandparents, couldn’t get enough of them. “It was amazing to see everyone, young and old, getting involved, having fun, and truly celebrating with us – it made the atmosphere so special and exactly what we had hoped for”, adds the bride. MEMORABLE MOMENTS The newlyweds felt excited and full of energy on the day, with no nerves—just a real sense of anticipation and happiness. The morning was busy, with final touches coming together, but they were both simply looking forward to everything ahead. When they saw each other at the ceremony, it was exactly as they had imagined—relaxed, joyful, and special. Seeing all their loved ones smiling and celebrating made it even better. The whole day flew by, and the couple loved every second. From the ceremony to the speeches and the dancefloor, everything felt natural and fun. Iko adds, “One of the loveliest moments was our first look and private vows. Before the ceremony, we had a quiet moment together away from all the excitement. Seeing each other for the first time was so special. We shared personal vows, which felt like the perfect way to start the day. The UK Gospel Choir singing during the ceremony was magical—it made the whole service feel even more special.” “There was a moment after we changed into our Nigerian outfits and were taking photos by the pond. We could hear our guests laughing in the distance. Curious, we peeked out to watch them, and for a few quiet moments, we just stood together, taking it all in. All the stress of planning melted away, and we felt pure happiness—married, surrounded by our loved ones, with everything coming together as hoped. It was a simple yet unforgettable moment of joy.” Liam’s brother gave an amazing speech, even wading into the age-old Nigerian vs. Ghanaian jollof rice debate, which got plenty of laughs—and a few strong opinions! It was a fun moment that really captured the joyful energy of the day. So many people contributed to making the day special. Iko says, “Our wedding planner, Charlotte, and the team at Hale Park were amazing—they went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The Gospel Choir made the ceremony unforgettable, and our photographer, Masha, captured every moment beautifully. Nyama Catering did an incredible job with the food, our stylist brought our vision to life, and our florist went above and beyond—I still get emotional when I look at my bouquet. It was an absolute piece of art, so much so that I had it preserved. But most of all, having our friends and family there celebrating with us made it unforgettable. The love, laughter, and joy were beyond anything we could have imagined. It was everything we hoped for and more!” 35 REAL WEDDINGS
