With the passing of her fatherin-law, Nicola Waddilove offered to create the floral tributes for the family when it was time to say goodbye. Having never worked with flowers before, she set about sourcing the blooms and making the farewell florals for the funeral, which gave her great pride and a sense of achievement. She also felt very honoured to have been offered this opportunity by the family. After the funeral, Nicola found an evening class at the local college for floristry, which she really enjoyed while working at a flower shop in her spare time. She says, “After a while, I decided to take a huge leap and leave my full-time corporate career to learn the skills to become a full-time florist, always knowing I would one day set up my business. I began a career-changing course at The Covent Garden Flower Academy in London. From this, Petals & Posies was born.” The business became a thriving wedding and events florist focusing on creating a warm and informal welcome for customers, turning dreams into reality with stunning designs.
