Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - January/February 2024 (Issue 102)

We wanted a venue with accommodation so we could extend the celebrations. I found Came House and fell in love with the orangery. We first viewed it online, where I was squeezing Bobby’s leg in excitement – we both knew it was the one right away. I’m also a stickler for detail and coordination, so aesthetics was important. I wanted a day that reflected us and our love story. We had banquet tables to reflect our love of Italian food and culture, with sharing boards for starters and desserts. We wanted that big Italian family meal vibe, people sharing food, wine and good conversation. The tables were named after our favourite holiday locations in Italy, such as Amalfi, Venezia, Taormina and Isola Rossa – it was hard to choose! My brief was wild, English country garden florals in pale pinks, creams and blues. We had a meadow aisle and installation to frame the vows that looked so gorgeous in the orangery, flooded in September sunshine. We gave guests shot bottles of Limoncello for toasting. 44
