PHOTOGRAPHY 53 Discover the talented teams behind the photographs Capturing memories A professional photographer is an expert in capturing all those special moments throughout the day, some of which you might have missed. You’ll want to look back on the images with pride and treasure them for years to come, so it’s essential to find a supplier you trust to showcase your day in the best possible way. Do your homework and research different photography styles until you find one you love. View websites and social media pages to see photographers' work and read reviews from newlyweds. To ensure the supplier is the perfect fit, schedule a face-to-face meeting or a video call to discuss your day and ensure everyone is on the same page. Don’t be afraid to ask plenty of questions; a good supplier will take the time to answer any concerns and offer advice. This is also the perfect opportunity to ensure your personalities don’t clash as you’ll be spending most of the day with your photographer. I had a passion already for photography and, in particular, capturing people. After seeing some fantastic photographers posting photos online and on social media of weddings, I decided to give it a try! I’m glad I jumped in and just went for it, as I’ve now been capturing weddings for six years. What packages do you offer nearlyweds? I have three different packages to suit all budgets and requirements; this includes a half-day session for important moments, a full-day service with a photo book and an extended day option with an engagement shoot, second shooter and prints. All these options come with a USB backup and speedy customer service! How would you explain your photography style? On the day, I like to be aware of the surroundings while reading the crowd – nobody wants a pushy photographer. I know when to blend into the background, the best time to step up and make decisions and how to get the key moments covered. I have a light and airy photography style and emulate the filmic look with my editing. What is your favourite part of the job? I enjoy meeting new people and love the fact every wedding has a different feel with many characters you meet on the day. My job is more than just pressing a button; it’s everything from organising, planning and getting people confident in front of the lens. It’s a very social job, so I need to interact with guests or otherwise, it will be a very long day! Check out: www.absolutephotouk.com
