Your Herts and Beds Wedding - December/January 2025/2026 (Issue 113)

with rare beef and vegetable dim sum. The sit-down meal began with a prawn cocktail starter, followed by chicken breast in a creamy garlic sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and a selection of vegetables. Dessert offered a choice between chocolate fondant or treacle sponge pudding. Later in the evening, loved ones enjoyed bacon rolls, mini hot dogs and mini fish and chips. LOOKING THE PART Ellis wore a stunning Enzoani gown, the kind of dress that didn’t just look beautiful but felt like it was made for her. She comments, “It wasn’t what I imagined but when I put it on, but my mum, dad and sister all agreed – it was the one!” Lianne wore a chic three-piece suit from Marc Darcy, paired with matching Prada ties for her bridesman and maid-of-honour. She completed the look with matching shoes and a sleek Prada earring, bringing the whole ensemble together effortlessly. The bridal party wore coordinating pieces, keeping everything cohesive and stylish. TIME TO CELEBRATE The day ran from 12:30 pm to midnight. “We were worried we might be too tired,” Ellis admits, “but we were able to talk to every single one of our guests, which meant so much to us.” Entertainment was a huge part of the day as the couple wanted something going on at every stage, and the feedback from guests was unbelievable. From a saxophonist during welcome drinks to a gospel choir for the ceremony, the day was filled with music and magic. Ellis says, “While we were off taking photos, guests were entertained by stilt walkers, the saxophonist and a magician!” Guests also enjoyed a ‘pimp my prosecco’ station, a live singer during dinner and later, a photo booth with props, a chocolate fountain and more stilt walkers. Then Mic Lowry, who made it to the semi-final of The Voice in 2024, performed in the evening, followed by fireworks and finally DJ Spoony, who finished off the night with a great set! “We debated whether to have fireworks, but it turned out to be the highlight of the day,” Ellis adds. “We were able to customise the display with our choice of songs and even got to press the button to start on the count of three! The photos that were taken while the fireworks were going off are incredible, we’re just so happy that our favourite moment was captured forever.” “We were always told that we were too laid back and asked why we hadn’t done this and that in time, but we planned and arranged the whole wedding ourselves without a wedding planner. Some things didn’t go to plan, but we always found a way and it was perfect. If you think you can do it yourself - believe it… we did!” 26
