that included all of my favourite tapas dishes and during the meal, he got down on one knee. We had a few days left on our holiday to celebrate and spent the next day releasing two rescued baby turtles into the ocean.” SETTING THE SCENE The couple chose Lapstone Barn due to the pretty location in the Cotswolds which they loved visiting. “The beautiful scenery, stunning views plus the accommodation available for us and our bridal party was the deciding factor,” Lauren tells us. “The barn itself is stunning, built from the classic Cotswold honey-coloured stone and we loved the modern twist with the brightly decorated room used for the wedding breakfast, An exclusive-use venue was a must, as well as an open bar because we wanted to spoil our guests so it was key for us to find a venue which didn’t charge a lot of corkage.” The couple’s ceremony was so special and featured a personal touch with a lovely reading by Lauren’s sister. “She chose The Art of Marriage by Wilferd Arlan Peterson,” Lauren says. Lauren and Matt’s stationery, including their table plan, reflected the blush pink and gold theme. “We had place names attached to individual menus in these colours and we opted for table numbers instead of names which were displayed in elegant gold frames,” Lauren describes. “We gave our guests Charbonnel et Walker Pink Champagne Truffles as favours and chose tall floral centrepiece arrangements to allow guests to be able to see one another and talk. Candles were floating below the centrepieces and above the table which added a romantic vibe and we also had plenty more candles dotted around the venue.” The couple were keen to have all of their flowers matching and complement their overall colour theme and their chosen florist did a wonderful job. “We had flowers displayed in vases placed at the entrance to the venue and in the bar, along with fresh flowers decorating our signage and arranged on the registrar’s table,” Lauren says. “ I carried a beautiful bouquet whilst my mother, sister and mother-in-law wore floral corsages and Matt, my father, father-in-law and our best man all wore pocket flowers. We also had gift bags made up for the ladies in our family which matched my bouquet.” Lauren and Matt’s venue stylists, Styletopia created two large floral chandeliers which were suspended from the ceiling in the main barn where the ceremony was held. “They provided the wow factor,” Lauren says. Lauren and Matt decided on a drinks reception with canapés which included smoked coronation chicken lettuce cups; smoked salmon and cream cheese bites; onion and cauliflower pakoras “We provided our guests with blankets in case they felt cold.” - Lauren and Matt “We had bar signs saying enjoy the open bar – tonight’s drinks are free, and tomorrow’s stories will be priceless!” - Lauren and Matt 39 REAL WEDDINGS
