Q&A Our local experts reveal all Beauty www.yourdigitalmemories.co.uk GET THE LOOK Meet the expert: Emma Beavers is the founder of Makeup by Emma based in Wiltshire who created the dreamy look for our Fly Away With Me photo shoot on page 49. Here, she explains how to achieve this look. Emma says: I based this make-up look on the hairstyle which was vintage in style with an elevated modern twist. When creating it, I wanted to keep the skin light with a fresh glow so I applied the Vitamin Enriched Face Base by www.bobbibrown.co.uk, which is a moisturiser with a built-in primer packed with vitamins B, C and E. This was followed by the Sheer Glow Foundation from www.narscosmetics.co.uk to achieve a glowing finish. The key to this look was that all of the products used on the face (except for the eyes) were either liquid or cream-based products. On the cheeks, I used the Face Trace contour stick by www.westman-atelier.com to define the cheekbones followed by the Beauty Light Wand in Pinkgasm Sunset by www.charlottetilbury.com For model Hannah’s eyes, I applied eye shadow shades from Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Palette Pillow Talk, concentrating on the earthy, darker pink tone on the socket and blending it up high to the brow bone which closes the gap between the eye and the eyebrow. Although I wanted to achieve a defined eye, I wanted it softened so rather than using black or brown eyeliner, I used Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Eyeliner which is a berry-brown shade. I applied this across the upper lash line and, using a soft brush, lightly smudged any harsh lines away. To finish off the eyes, I used a few coats of Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara in the same shade as the eyeliner, berry-brown. To finish the lips, I used the Enhance and Define Lip Pencil in the shade Petal and the Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour in Rose Official both from www.lisaeldridge.com. Because no powder was used, I spritzed the All Nighter Setting Spray from www.urbandecay.co.uk to finish the look. https://mymakeupbyemma.co.uk; www.facebook.com/ mymakeupbyemma, www.instagram.com/my_makeup_by_emma A TRIAL RUN Meet the expert: Juliet Draper is a hair and make-up artist covering weddings in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and throughout the Cotswolds. Should I book a hair and make-up trial? Juliet says: I often get asked whether a trial is necessary and the simple answer is yes. A trial is very important because it allows you to work through different looks with your stylist and find one that you are completely comfortable and confident with ahead of the big day. It also allows you to get to know your stylist and raise any concerns you may have with them. Before your trial, start to gather images of the hair and makeup looks that you love. If you’re not quite sure what styles would suit you, having something to show your stylist will help them to suggest alternative ideas and work with you on finding the right look. Hair and make-up trials are also fun and give you a chance to enjoy much-needed pamper time!
