Leah and Arjun met online just before the pandemic and soon became engaged. “We have a shared faith and morals,” the couple tells us. They chose to get married at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham which was Arjun’s choice. “The appeal was the stunning grounds, the fact that the venue offered exclusive use and that our family could stay over,” he says. SETTING THE SCENE The couple chose a black, white and silver colour theme to decorate their day. “We had black drapes on the chairs, beaded charger plates on the tables and our welcome sign and table plan were made using a silver mirror with white writing which was all in keeping with our theme,” Leah tells us. “Our beautiful centrepieces were floating candles with white roses and hydrangeas arranged in high and low-level vases which complemented my white rose bouquet and the bridesmaids’ posies of hydrangeas,” Leah says. “We also had white rose petals scattered down the aisle with white cherry blossom trees placed close to our top table and our place names featured hand-written calligraphy which matched our table numbers and biblical verse that we presented on each table.” Leah and Arjun’s statement cake was a white three-tier design decorated with white wafer kites and silver leaf detail. “The flavours were red velvet; prosecco and passionfruit and blueberry and lemon,” they tell us. “We also gifted individual Victoria sponge and lemon drizzle cupcakes as favours.” Leah and Arjun had an English menu for their wedding breakfast that was prepared by the team at the venue and an Indian menu produced by an outside catering company which provided an excellent variety of dishes for their guests. LOOKING THE PART Leach wore the dress by Vera Wang Bride called Laurence. “I had custom tulle sleeves added that were made by a seamstress,” she tells us. I teamed my dress with a pair of halo drop earrings and a heart-shaped necklace from Pandora which was one of the first gifts that Arjun gave to me. “I kept my look simple and elegant which is what made me feel confident, it felt suited to my personal style.” 37 REAL WEDDINGS
