Yes, it’s that magical time of the year once again! I don’t know about you but this year has passed by quickly for me, and luckily it has been a wonderful one. We’ve celebrated my mum and dad’s Golden Wedding Anniversary, we’re looking forward to welcoming our Australian relatives to the UK this Christmas and my brother and sister-in-law are having their first baby this December which is the best present ever! I also managed to take a couple of sun-drenched trips this year, including to Oia in Santorini where I stayed at the fabulous Villa Mellow, booked through The Greek Villas (https://thegreekvillas.com/destinations/santorini-villas/ oia/mellow) and to Athens where I was very spoilt in the rooftop 501 Milos Terrace Suite at boutique hotel xenodocheio Milos (https://xenodocheiomilos.com). Read all about these wonderful properties, perfect for honeymooners in my Greece is the word review on page 84. To celebrate the festive period, we’ve compiled a seasonal issue for you to enjoy. There’s everything from summery-themed real weddings and elegantly styled shoots for couples planning their nuptials next year to snow-capped venues perfect for winter weddings. Don’t miss the latest news, offers, fashion, beauty and honeymoon destinations plus there are handmade ideas for those planning a DIY wedding, and advice about big-day photography and videography. For those of you getting married soon then I wish you many congratulations and for those not taking the plunge until 2023, I’ll see you next issue. Happy Christmas! Claire x Claire Ridley, Editor Ho, ho, ho Manor by the Lake in Gloucestershire is one of my favourite wedding venues in the region and the stunning images by Capturing Senses Photography from our French Fancy shoot on page 43 promise to add a little something blue to your special day. One of my favourite European countries is Greece which I’ve been fortunate enough to visit many times. On this trip, I soaked up the warm sunshine in Santorini at Villa Mellow and admired the city views in Athens from the rooftop terrace at hotel xenodocheio Milos. Find out how you can book a dream honeymoon at both properties on page 84. Dan Bliss, the cheese buyer for Paxton & Whitfield, said: “Our cheeseboard selection for Christmas 2022 celebrates 225 years of Paxton & Whitfield. It features three of the most iconic cheeses from our heritage and two of our most recent innovations that have been developed at our new cheese maturation facility. These cheeses not only help to celebrate and tell our story, but they taste incredible too, either as a collection on the festive cheeseboard or as individual cheeses.” Still shopping for that perfect festive gift? Paxton & Whitfield has a treat for all budgets in its 2022 Christmas hamper collection. These thoughtful gifts feature the finest artisan cheese, expertly paired with crackers, accompaniments and some with wines, to create collections of luxuriously festive fayre. Dan Bliss explains: “Our Christmas 2022 gift collections compile the finest cheeses and paired accompaniments for a delicious unwrapping experience. As the company celebrates its 225th birthday, we have given a nod to the past with our Georgian-inspired photography styling and gifts such as our ‘Historic Gourmet Feast Box’ and ‘Cheese for Honey’ collections. We also look forward to the future with items such as a sustainability-focused ‘Planting Trees and Eating Cheese – Edible Christmas Card’ and innovative new artisan elements such as the allnew British Cheese ‘Cullum’ and new hand-baked Paxton & Whitfield Sourdough Crispbreads.” All of the hampers feature reusable ice packs and 100% sheep’s wool insulation for a chilled delivery and a free Paxton & Whitfield gift card; printed with the customer’s personal message. As the UK’s oldest cheesemonger, Paxton & Whitfield not only sources the finest in artisan cheese, but its cheese experts also source and sell the ideal accompaniments and cheese homewares for customers to get the most out of their cheese experience. From hand-baked biscuits to handprepared chutneys and even cheese knives, cheese boards and other homewares to serve the cheese. The original cheese subscription - Paxton & Whitfield launched its Cheese Club in the 1980s and the club is still going strong today with many long-standing, loyal members. Paxton’s Cheese Club has been upgraded for Christmas 2022 and now includes four specially selected artisan varieties, together with printed tasting notes included in the parcel and a box of Paxton & Whitfield Artisan Biscuits for Cheese. Each monthly cheese club delivery is carefully hand-cut, wrapped and packed by Paxton’s cheesemongers into a Paxton & Whitfield branded transit box – insulated with compostable and biodegradable sheep’s wool insulation and chilled with fully recyclable and re-usable ice packs. Dan Bliss comments: “Paxton’s Cheese Club is designed as an exploration of artisan cheese. We enjoy selecting the cheeses each month and aim never to repeat a cheese within 24 months. Our members can experience a wide variety of cheese that they would only be able to find in specialist cheesemongers - delivered to their door. Cheese Club members often get the first taste of brand-new cheeses and sometimes receive limited-edition batches that cheesemakers make just for the club. The new and improved factsheets in the parcel add to the experience.” To shop, visit www.paxtonandwhitfield.co.uk COTSWOLDS DISTILLERY LAUNCHES HEARTS & CRAFTS RUM CASK SINGLE MALT WHISKY The limited-edition Rum Cask Single Malt Whisky is the third expression in Cotswolds Distillery’s Hearts & Crafts collection.
