Comfortably hosting up to 30 people per property, ARC is a curated and crafted collection of the most remarkable country houses, from the minds of London-based architecture studio Parti and design studio Regular Practice. Combining architecture, furniture and landscape, Parti aims to design atmospheres and experiences as integral to buildings, spaces and landscapes. Each building is a beautiful, well-crafted, inventive property that positively impacts guests, society and the built environment. The first two properties in the series are ARC Painswick, a 15th-century wool merchant’s manor house at the heart of the town restored to its ancestral beauty, and ARC Padstow, an 18th-century build restored to its original plan and nestled in the heart of St Issey, Cornwall. ARC Painswick offers modern comforts to create a homely, hearty feel blending classic décor with contemporary pieces and can accommodate up to 24 guests in nine bedrooms. There’s an outdoor swimming pool and the grounds boast uninterrupted views of the Painswick Hills. Alongside impeccably styled interiors, ARC stays offer curated experiences where guests can plan as much or as little as they’d like to do, using the purpose-built ARC online ‘Lobby’ to organise and schedule every detail of their stay; from some of Stroud’s best street food delivered to the door and a private bartender to prepare cocktails, to a private tour and wine tasting at Painswick’s very own Rococo Gardens. Richard Bond, founder of Finest Retreats says: “We’re delighted to partner with ARC and their incredibly innovative concept homes. We’ve worked closely with ARC founder Tom Leahy from the outset to help achieve his vision. From providing our holiday letting expertise throughout the renovations and redesign, we’re now looking forward to welcoming guests this summer and providing exceptional concierge-style service. We’re driven by our core values to provide the very finest holidays for guests, and work hard for our owners which is why we’re especially proud to manage the ARCs alongside an owner who so clearly shares our approach.” To book, visit www.finestretreats.co.uk/rentals/house-painswick-arcpainswick-376990.html Photography of ARC Painswick courtesy of Handover Studio THE WINE STALL OPENS AT DAYLESFORD Daylesford Organic has opened its new wine shop, The Wine Stall. Located at Daylesford Farm in Kingham, the Cotswolds, the new store is a one-stop-shop offering expert advice from Daylesford’s team of specialists plus a collection of carefully curated wines from international producers including Rothschild wines from Bordeaux. In addition, lesser-known vineyards will be showcased in the collection, for example, Montlouis and the Loire Valley. Daylesford has taken care to choose winemakers who focus on sustainable viticulture, and organic and biodynamic processes wherever possible including Château Léoube, owned by the Bamford family who pioneered organic farming at Daylesford. All the grapes and olives at Léoube are carefully tended by hand using time-honoured artisanal methods and organic principles that work in harmony with the land and changing seasons. Daylesford’s wine experts will host daily drop-in tastings to share advice and insights on the range. Further events will take place throughout the year with a focus on seasonal wines and food pairings including Wine Flight Suppers hosted at Daylesford Farm’s Trough & Legbar restaurant. Running on 12th August, 18th and 25th November, the suppers will showcase the best ingredients in season paired with curated wines from The Wine Stall. Monthly wine evenings will take place on the first Friday of every month to celebrate a curated range of the best vineyards, vignerons and wine estates from across the globe. The store will also offer private and bespoke tastings upon request. Visitors to The Wine Stall can also head to the Bottoms Up Bar, located in the Fountain Courtyard on Daylesford’s farm. The bar will serve wine, beer and cocktails throughout the summer period and will also offer live music from DJs on Friday evenings.
