Your East Midlands Wedding - December 2022/January 2023 (Issue 53)

Jonny loves trains, which he got from his grandad Peter, so we got a steam train from Wirksworth to Shottle on the day. Jonny’s grandad had never forgiven him for being too scared as a toddler to get on the footplate of the Flying Scotsman – the groom made up for it by having a picture with his grandad 27 years later! My make-up artist was so amazing at her job and made me feel like a princess! The bridesmaids wore fitted champagne dresses while my two adult flowergirls wore sage green versions. I picked a Morilee trumpet dress after falling in love with the style at Team Bride Derbyshire – I added a small belt and a simple veil to show off the back. I changed into a different evening gown to ensure I could fully get involved in the party! Jonny and the groomsmen all wore blue suits, but the groom wore a paisley tie to stand out. Our lawn games were a massive hit with guests and included mini golf, hook a duck, sack race, corn hole, whack a mole and skittles. 39 REAL WEDDINGS
