Alexander would always play football with her brother; he says, “I always wanted to go up and speak to Abbie but never had the courage until we were older.” As years passed, the pair grew to love one another and Alex got on so well with Abbie’s daughter Alyssa. She adds, “Alex fitted seamlessly into our family from the start.” In 2018, Alexander decided it was the perfect time to ask Abbie to marry him in front of their Christmas tree – of course, she said yes! It was such a lovely moment when he gave Alyssa a ring too. Here Abbie shares details about their special day… 28
