Your East Midlands Wedding - April/May 2021 (Issue 43)

All the latest from around the region Nearlywed NEWS FIVE MINUTES WITH… This issue we caught up with Bethany Morris Music to discover more about the company. When did the company start? I started Bethany Morris Music in 2014 after performing at various weddings and events with different ensembles over the years. I wanted to branch out on my own and create a business to provide high- quality music for smaller weddings at an affordable price – that’s exactly what I did. What do you offer couples on their wedding day? I’m available to play for ceremonies and receptions. I offer solo cello with either professional backing tracks to accompany me or with a live piano provided by pianist Jane Olson whom I have worked with for many years. This offers flexibility to clients when considering the amount of space available at the venue and budget. I have an extensive repertoire to choose from with classical, contemporary and pop covers. However, I’m always happy to source or arrange music for bookings if that special piece you want isn’t already on my playlist. What’s the highlight of your job? I love all aspects of my job, but the performance element is my favourite. To take part in a couple’s wedding day and see their faces and reactions when a particular piece of music starts to play is a definite highlight.
