THE OLD VICARAGE AT ELKESLEY 07970 734 923 | www.oldvicarageatelkesley.co.uk The Old Vicarage At Elkesley is a country residence and outdoor venue that was bought in the 1980s from the Church of England when it was passed into private hands. It was built at the foot of exposure of 500-million-year-old sandstone and occupy what must be one of the most idyllic private and sheltered positions in this locality. Approached by its own coach road or by way of Park Lane, it is to be found set within five acres of wooded grounds divided by the shallow River Poulter which gently meanders between its banks. With its magnificent marble fireplace, deep cornices and oak doors, this venue offers all the delights of a Bygone age. For ceremonies, both the Osbourne Suite and Pergola are decorated depending on the colour scheme and theme. Couples have the week before the wedding to bring all the decorations and decorate the spaces. The licensed Pergola stands overlooking the shallow banks of the River Poulter. Designed by Holly Nook Designs, the bespoke natural oak pergola has been hand-chosen from the straightest of oak tree trunks, to hold the oak and larch shingle timbered roof. This area can be lit with candles, lanterns or lamps. Marquees, tipis or yurts can be arranged for every function and ranges from tents with no frills, to sumptuously lined marquees with swaging and chandeliers which can be hired from Thursday to Tuesday for a fixed fee. When couples book the venue, they can pick the on-site luxury log cabin or the 17 th -century Coach House for use as the bridal suite. Brides-to-be can have a stress-free morning while getting ready with the bridal party.
