ALPHETON HALL BARNS, SUFFOLK 01284 830 200 | www.alpheton-hall-barns.co.uk Alpheton Hall Barns are part of an ancient settlement comprising Alpheton Hall and the Church of St Peter & St Paul. Set in meadows and woodland at the end of a no-through road, the site was founded by Aelfflaed, whose husband Bryhtnoth, Earl of Essex, was killed at the battle of Maldon in Essex in AD 991. The venue’s two traditional, timber-frame Suffolk Barns, with black timber cladding, are set between the Stackyard Wedding Garden – ideal for your welcome drinks – and Confetti Arboretum; a young wooded area surrounded by long grasses and wildflowers, with a mown grass ‘heart’ perfect for your confetti run, drone shots and golden-hour photographs. Rustic, unspoilt and sympathetically restored rather than converted, the barns offer everything you need for your wedding including tables and chairs, fully fitted caterers’ and bar kitchens and smart WCs. Couples have a choice of two licensed ceremony spaces. The West Barn, with 13th-century origins, has oak-beamed walls and a stone floor, it can seat from 50 to 200 guests; or, the new Woodland Ceremony Glade with natural tree aisle, oak-framed ceremony shelter and bench seating, can seat 200+ loved ones. Should couples wish to consider a church ceremony, the barns are ideally located adjacent to the Church of St Peter & St Paul, Alpheton. Post-vows for up to 250 guests, the main South Barn provides all the space you need for your wedding breakfast, bar, band or DJ and dancing. The barn, with its timber-framed walls, flowing silk drapes and thousands of fairylights, hanging ‘hoop’ lights and vintage ladders (all with pendant rope lights), is a beautiful backdrop to photographs. What’s more, the barn courtyard with covered cart lodge bench seating (heated in cold weather), outdoor kitchen with woodfired pizza oven and twinkly fairylights is popular for evening food and as a breakout space. www.chriswaudphotography.com www.chriswaudphotography.com BEDFORD LODGE HOTEL, SUFFOLK 01638 663 175 | www.bedfordlodgehotel.co.uk Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa is a 17th-century Georgian house built originally as a hunting lodge for the sixth Duke of Bedford.
