Charlotte and Craig met through the local Young Farmer’s Club and became engaged when Craig popped the question at Charlotte’s family farm. “We decided to set our wedding date for the following September,” Charlotte says. SETTING THE SCENE Charlotte grew up in the village of Cotleigh and always wanted to get married in St Michaels church located about a mile away from their home. “We wanted our reception to be local, too so we hired a marquee to be placed on our local playing field at the village hall,” Charlotte tells us. Charlotte’s dad drove them to the church in his car and then the newlyweds were able to walk to their reception. “We lined the trees along the lane with homemade bunting which I loved making, it suited the look of our county wedding,” Charlotte explains. “Our wonderful ceremony was such a memorable moment for us both, we were so excited and looking forward to spending the day with our loved ones.” The couple decided on an ivory, bright pink, burgundy and navy colour theme for their special day. This was reflected in their stunning floral displays, created by the local florist and Charlotte’s sister, Sarah Broom. “Sarah designed and created some amazing floral arrangements for us,” Charlotte says. “I love hydrangeas, large roses and amaranthus so she based the designs around these varieties.
