HOUSEL BAY HOTEL LAUNCHES WEDDING PACKAGES Housel Bay hotel situated on the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall is now available for exclusive-use hire for weddings with the launch of its wedding offering. Known as Britain’s most southerly hotel, it’s situated in a secluded clifftop location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering an uninterrupted backdrop of the stunning Atlantic Ocean and Lizard Lighthouse. Weddings at the hotel offer couples a private and intimate space, with 23 bedrooms available for friends and family and the capacity to host a wedding breakfast and reception for up to 70 guests, with each wedding tailored to suit the couple’s requirements. The hotel is also home to Marconi’s Bar, a separate dining space, a cosy snug area and a yoga studio, all of which will be available to the happy couple. Guests can enjoy a wedding breakfast designed by Joseph Fallowfield, head chef of Housel Bay’s on-site two-rosette restaurant, Fallowfields. Joseph’s sample seven-course wedding breakfast menu includes dishes such as monkfish carpaccio, oxtail ravioli, dry-aged beef fillet, and lime and cardamom rice pudding. Alfred continued, “We have spent a long time perfecting the offering to ensure we can give couples and their guests a truly magical wedding celebration. Housel Bay is the perfect location for a wedding and the hospitality and service provided by our amazing team will add that extra touch to ensure your day is truly special.” The venue doesn’t have a ceremony licence but couples can do this at the nearby Church Cove. It’s situated within 32 acres of grounds and ancient woodlands surrounded by the beautiful North Devon countryside. The courtyard has recently been transformed into a stunning space with ambience lighting, tables and seating underneath a canopy of fairylights, a decked area and swinging chairs. Inside, spacious Georgian rooms are filled with period features and windows revealing stunning views across the valley. Indoor ceremonies take place in The Panelled Hall for up to 90 guests with its two carved wooden pillars and working fireplace, perfect for winter weddings. The large front doors open out on to the balustrade with the water lily ornamental fountain in the background, which offers another great ceremony setting, and for couples wanting a church ceremony, St. Peter’s Church is a two-minute walk from the bottom of the garden. For intimate, smaller wedding receptions, the Grey room located at the front of the house holds up to 48 guests. This delightful space offers period features and stunning views. Alternatively, The Old Refectory, which has been transformed into an elegant function room to host larger receptions has a beautiful parquet floor and reclaimed wood feature wall.
