LISKEARD Blackwater Farm, the home of Bridle & Groom Weddings is a new rustic-inspired wedding venue that’s situated on a nine-acre working farm with chickens, donkeys and the magnificent shire. These animals can appear in photographs with the happy couple or even greet guests around the firepit! It’s open between March 15th and October 31st each year and accessed via the Well field which is the venue’s glamping site where couples can spend their first night together in a large bell tent as part of the wedding package. Their guests can also stay over in the four smaller bell tents available with the opportunity to share a blackwater breakfast the following morning for £10 per person. Additional guests wanting to camp can do so in their own tents. Ceremonies take place in the Garden Wedding Room with a raised stage for up to 60 guests (including the registrar and the couple). For those wanting a church wedding close by, the Garden Wedding Room can be transformed into a comfortable retreat where guests can relax and mingle with self-service tea, coffee and sweet treats available. Couples are now able to marry on the woodland lawn under the wooden arbour next to the duck pond surrounded by up to 60 guests. A short walk along a farm track leads to the large open-air, all-weather marquee which seats up to 150 loved ones providing another ceremony option plus space for the wedding breakfast and reception. The Cornish Farm Fayre menu is offered as the wedding breakfast which can be upgraded to include a Blackwater Hog Roast using the farm-reared pork. Hidden at the heart of this magical venue, secluded behind trees and hedges, is a fountain, woodland lawn, an Eq-wine horsebox bar and a prosecco wall perfect for arrival drinks (children’s drinks are complimentary). The booking office adjacent to the lawn can be used as a sweetshop or ice-cream bar during the reception and gravel walkways mean there’s access for disabled guests. Ceremony licence? THE BARN AT PENGELLY, TRURO, CORNWALL This stylish new purpose-built wedding venue with its statement glass entrance foyer is located on a 5th generation working farm overlooking rolling hills and sprawling lakes. Featuring two outdoor terraces where lawn games can be enjoyed, the venue offers an outdoor ceremony area under a pagoda on the lower terrace with views of the lakes. Alternatively, the spacious 300 square foot indoor barn can hold a large party of up to 300 guests for the ceremony and up to 400 people for the reception, and an Insta-worthy feature is a fully stocked, rustic-inspired bar that’s handmade from ash trees that have fallen on the farm and offers Pimms on tap!
