Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - March/April 2022 (Issue 36)

NEW LAUNCH Sharpham Cheese has launched new cheese celebration cakes, perfect for weddings. Hand-crafted on the banks of the River Dart, Sharpham Cheese has a range of nine multi-award winning cheeses to choose from, plus Peter’s Yard sourdough crackers and new Sharpham chutneys to complete the showstopping centrepieces. Choose from a simple three-tier creation to an extravagant six-tier tower crowned with a heart-shaped cheese at the top. The team can help couples to pick a balance of flavours and characteristics, like the smooth, silky brie and the complex mushroom Washbourne sheep’s cheese. Each cheese celebration cake is individually crafted, shaped and aged from scratch, to ensure it’s the perfect centrepiece for the occasion and the process is personal for each booking. It starts with a phone call to understand the exact requirements and then the customer is welcome to visit Sharpham Dairy, located in the Dart Valley, to meet the cheesemakers and decide which varieties work best. If that’s not possible, a cheese taster box will be sent in the post. Once the cheeses and accompaniments have been confirmed, Sharpham Cheese gets to work crafting the individual cheese cake. Sharpham’s Greg Parsons tells us, “Our cheeses are all handmade here in Devon, with each small batch unique to Sharpham Estate. Flavours, aromas and textures are influenced from the terroir here – thanks to the rich variety of grasses and herbs that grow in the Dart Valley.” To shop, visit www.sharphamcheese.co.uk New Cornish launch Tarquin’s hand-crafted Cornish gin has unveiled its limited-edition Black Cherry Gin infused with fresh-pressed black cherries and a touch of orange zest creating a rich, zingy and vibrant spirit.
