Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - Page number 41 - September/October 2021 (Issue 33)

N atalie and Harry met on the dating app Tinder and enjoyed their first date on bonfire night in 2014. “We sat on Brixham Breakwater with some sparklers watching the fireworks and the rest, as they say, is history,” Natalie tells us. The couple booked their wedding in September 2018, before they became engaged, because they knew that they wanted to get married on Halloween in 2020. “Harry proposed to me in March 2019 a few days before our daughter’s 1 st birthday,” Natalie explains. “We were visiting the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth and although we already had our wedding booked, he did manage to surprise me!” SETTING THE SCENE The couple chose the Berry Head Hotel & Apartments located in Brixham, Devon, for their special day. “I’ve enjoyed plenty of family parties at the hotel and it’s such a lovely place,” Natalie says. “We live in Brixham too, so it was perfect. I stayed at the hotel the night before and my brother-in-law, Alex, collected Harry in his classic car on the morning of the wedding.” Because of the restrictions in place at the time, the couple wasn’t allowed to host a large reception so they invited 15 loved ones to celebrate with them. “Because it was Halloween, the room where we had our ceremony was already decorated for a function taking place that evening which we were really happy with and they did check it was ok with us first,” Natalie explains. “We didn’t need many additional decorations so chose fake pumpkins as our table centrepieces and Love Hearts place names which doubled up as our favours.” The couple and their guests enjoyed a meal after their ceremony that was pre-booked from the mouth-watering menu. “My sister, “We were both more excited than nervous on our special day and just so happy that we were able to get married on the date we had originally planned to.” – Natalie and Harry https://ww w.mattwrightfilms.co.uk REAL WEDDINGS 41
