Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - January/February 2026 (Issue 85)

When Dan proposed, it was a total shock,” bride Rebecca tells us. Having returned from walking their pug Nala, Rebecca had gone upstairs to change out of her muddy trackies and came back down to find the lounge in darkness and the TV on. On the screen was a slideshow featuring photos and videos from their seven years together. “I still hadn’t clocked that this was a proposal though,” Rebecca laughs. When it ended, Dan produced the engagement ring, and the penny dropped. “I cried my eyes out,” the bride-to-be remembers. The couple wanted to tie the knot locally and looked at a few venues but after seeing Colshaw Hall nothing else came close. “After meeting the staff we were confident that we were in safe hands,” Rebecca shares. “They really make you feel like yours is the most important wedding they’ve ever done.” Opting for a palette of neutrals, the two styled the venue with a mix of beautiful blooms, candles and drapes. “It looked absolutely stunning,” Rebecca remembers. Meanwhile, Barrett’s Event Catering took care of the food, which we’re led to believe, went down a storm. “One of the guests said it was the best meal she’d ever had,” Rebecca tells us. The couple also laid on a pick ‘n’ mix cart to keep everyone going. The intention was to keep the kids entertained, but the adults snaffled most of the sweeties! “ 22
